Unseen. Furthermore, in the Ratnavali, it says: Those who are frightened by the dharma of no place, beings clearly rejoice in a place to dwell, due to attachment to existence and non-existence, the unwise are thus destroyed. It also says: Those who cling to non-existence go to bad destinies, those who cling to existence go to good destinies, in order to fully understand as it is, one is liberated by not relying on either. Furthermore, in the Sixty Stanza Reasoning, it says: By existence, one is not liberated, by non-existence, one is not liberated from this existence, by fully knowing existence and non-existence, the great self is liberated. Furthermore, in the Praise of Inconceivability, it says: To say "exists" is to view as permanent, to say "does not exist" is to view as annihilation, therefore you have taught the dharma that is free from the two extremes, therefore (268b) the dharmas are taught by being free from the four extremes, consciousness is also not, how can it be an object of speech? Thus, etc., relying on vast teachings and reasoning, eliminating the clinging to existence and non-existence with faith and attention, generating individual self-awareness wisdom, understanding the meaning of all dharmas being without self-nature, focusing single-mindedly on this, relying on shamatha, generating pure vipassanā contemplation, increasing the practice of accumulating merit and purifying obscurations to perfection, one will attain the perfect enlightenment of Buddhahood. In short, by the vipassanā of the born one, and after familiarizing oneself with shamatha, one is liberated from the bondage of bad destinies and the bondage of signs. Therefore, the supreme cause for attaining liberation and omniscience is to manifest the non-self-nature of all dharmas in a way that cannot be directly perceived, generating individual self-awareness wisdom through hearing, thinking, and meditating, one must destroy all the delusions of the two obscurations, such as clinging to self-nature in all dharmas, this is the ultimate intention explained in this treatise. Second, there are three parts: 1. The main statement; 2. Refuting disputes; 3. The reason for eliminating attachment and aversion and observing properly. First, the main statement: The treatise says, "Because of attachment to debate, it was not composed, for the sake of liberation, this is taught." In the master's Madhyamaka treatises, there was no extensive creation of analysis with numerous collections of reasoning, because of attachment to debate, wanting to subdue others. Then,

If so, then the more extensive investigation is because by explaining the Suchness, if all beings can comprehend the Dharma nature (269a) and attain liberation, wouldn't that be wonderful? Therefore, the Dharma is taught for the sake of beings attaining liberation. The second point is: If it is explained as it is, then, if other schools are destroyed, there is no fault. If you prevent all investigation because of debate, and for the sake of argument, think that merely eliminating conceptualization as a result is not enough, then it is not so. Even if the investigation is not for the sake of argument, but if it is explained as it is through investigation, then, other schools cannot be established because they are unreasonable, just as a vajra destroys a rocky mountain, we have no fault. In the *Hundred Verses*, it says: The Tathagatas did not speak this Dharma for the sake of argument. However, like fire burning firewood, it burns the arguments of others. So it is said. The third point is: Attachment to one's own view, and similarly, anger towards others' views, are all conceptualizations. Therefore, eliminating desire and hatred, those who discriminate will quickly be liberated. If the Dharma is taught because of strong attachment and hatred towards one's own and others' views, then it is impossible to eliminate conceptualization. Therefore, attachment to one's own view, and similarly, anger towards others' views, are all conceptualizations of things. Therefore, if conceptualization is not eliminated, liberation will not be attained. Because this Dharma is not for the sake of argument, therefore, eliminating desire and hatred towards oneself and others, and discriminating the reality of things with the desire to realize the Suchness, one will quickly be liberated. In the *Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning*, it says: Those who possess great freedom from contention, they have no partiality. For those who have no partiality, where would there be another side? So it is said. In the *Hundred Verses*, it says: If you are attached to your own side, and you do not like the side of others, then you will not go to Nirvana, and the two actions will not be pacified. So it is said. In the Sutra Pitaka, it says: If someone, after hearing this Dharma, becomes attached, and after hearing non-Dharma (269b) becomes angry, that person is destroyed by pride and arrogance, and experiences suffering under the control of pride. Thus, abandoning the aspect of clinging to appearances, if those who wish to attain liberation rely on the knowledge and the classification of the two truths that are commonly accepted in the world, as explained by the noble Nagarjuna, then, dependent arising
