Although it harms the system of arising and ceasing that views things as real, it does not contradict the common worldly arising and ceasing, so the term "conventional" is not inconsistent with the conventional. Moreover, this worldly agreement that also accords with the nature of ultimate truth exists and is established in general as long as the system of worldly convention exists. However, there is no other way or means to enter the ultimate except through dependent origination's conventional truth. Therefore, speaking of such a term of dependent origination's conventional truth in accordance with the worldly convention, just as it sounds, is something that only noble individuals, called Madhyamikas by others, possess. Others, from the Carvakas to the Mind-Only school (262a), do not have it. Furthermore, most of the conventional truths that others believe are not suitable as a basis for entering the ultimate. Moreover, in terms of terminology, they are mostly designated as things that have no basis for acceptance or rejection. Even if one does not examine it, various slanders have been made against the conventional dependent origination. Even so, this arising of conventional dependent origination is not established by the Madhyamika's own system. The Madhyamikas establish conventional truth as the Dharma of dependent origination in the eyes of ordinary beings. Although this dependent origination has the same name as the Dharma of dependent origination spoken by those who speak of things as real, they do not have the same meaning. Because their dependent origination is established and posited as a Dharma of reality by its own nature. Here, since it is not established by its own nature, and the Dharma that is established in either reality or non-reality is not established even in terminology, the system of the Dharma of dependent origination in terminology inevitably appears before the world as it is commonly known. By distinguishing the conventional Dharma of dependent origination, one can easily enter the ultimate truth, the emptiness of cause and effect's own nature, and it becomes its basis. This includes the agent and the action, the self and the appropriation, the cause and the effect, the goer and the going, the seen and the seer, the spoken and the speaker, the limb and the possessor of limbs, the part and the whole, the quality and the possessor of qualities, the substrate and the attribute, the definition and the defined, the apprehended and the apprehender, and the knowable.
