Because it has been clearly stated that "zhag go." If someone establishes something without examining it with the innate worldly wisdom, then when there is no examination, (worldly wisdom) will not hinder it. Not only for persons, but for all dharmas, it should be applied in this way. If it is not like this, the Madhyamika school proves with its own tenets that the reality of a person (pudgala) exists in conventional truth, and also proves with its own tenets that it does not exist in ultimate truth. Then, what is more like a realist than a Madhyamika who proves in this way? If something was real in conventional truth, but later in ultimate truth it is proven to be emptiness and non-reality, wouldn't that become the cause of emptiness destroying reality? On the other hand, proving that something originally has self-nature, but later does not have self-nature, wouldn't that be slandering something while admitting it? This is simply a self-contradictory arguer, and the worst realist among realists. Therefore, who entrusted you to undertake the task of commenting on the Prasangika Madhyamika treatises, which hold such bad tenets and are difficult to understand? In particular, if someone says that Acharya Chandrakirti diligently proves self-awareness in conventional truth, that is to say that he does not understand the meaning of this treatise that is being explained. Because here it has been said that, starting from the perspective of emptiness, whatever is negated should not be diligently proven in any of the two truths. But you treat his words like dog droppings, and instead say the opposite. Here it says: "At that time, by what kind of reasoning is it unreasonable for something to arise from self and other? Since that reasoning is also unreasonable in conventional truth, from what will your arising come?" Like this, in conventional truth, it has become the difference between self and other in terms of arising and non-arising, which is as well-known as the wind among the wise. Don't you know this? Or, knowing it clearly, you use afflictions to disturb the Dharma principles of glorious Chandrakirti (༢༣༠བ), then we are helpless. Therefore, it cannot be established that after the aggregate of previous experience ceases, the aggregate of later memory arises. Because whether the aggregate of previous seeds and causes, etc., ceases or does not cease, the real aggregate of later sprouts, etc., cannot be established to arise, so this school strongly prohibits this. As it is said: "Therefore, when a sprout arises, the seed does not cease." and so on.

O, and from the Madhyamaka treatises of the master Nāgārjuna and his spiritual sons, regarding the establishment of dependent arising and cause and effect, the causal object from which later arises, whether previously experienced or not, is not established between the two. If it is established, then the principle of cause and effect will become permanentist or annihilationist, and annihilation and actions, etc., will become futile and other faults. Therefore, later consciousness will also remember, "I have seen before," because the earlier and later consciousnesses are not different entities. Because whatever is experienced, in recollection, does not become unexperienced; what is completely determined by experience is not undetermined by recollection. The principle of experience and recollection is also merely the conventional reality of the world, because it is not something that needs to be thoroughly examined, because all conventional realities of the world are of false meaning. If the meaning of the words were different, experience and recollection would not be possible; in order to dispel the wrong conceptions of the realists, this is said. The Madhyamikas do not examine and establish their own system by saying that experience and recollection are reasonable because they are not other. And some people think that, just as consciousnesses of different continuums are not other but the same, so one says, "Experienced" (231a) of what one has experienced before. If someone raises the question, why do others not call it that way, and then answers, that is not reasonable. Because even though the world accepts consciousnesses of different continuums as other, the Madhyamikas have not accepted them as not other. Third: Therefore, if there is no self-awareness, then by what will your other-dependent (other-nature) be apprehended? Since the agent, action, and object are not one, it is not reasonable for it to apprehend itself. Mind-Only, by what will your other-dependent, object-possessing consciousness be apprehended? It will not be apprehended, because of the reason just stated, that there is no self-awareness, and also because there is no other-awareness. It is not reasonable for consciousness itself to apprehend itself, because the agent, action, and object are not one. Just as there is no oneness in the cutter, the tree to be cut, and the cutting into pieces. The Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: Just as a sword cannot cut its own edge, and a finger cannot touch itself, so is self-aware mind. And so on. The third is: If birth
