The afflictions that rely on the existence that destroys the power of those will not cause harm either. As it is said, "Since destruction is not a real entity, it is not related to relying on the causes of any dharma." Regarding that, if a non-entity changes relying on others, just like destruction because it is not an entity. This is not considered an antidote, because relying on others is just like destruction. Furthermore, the great scholar Śāntarakṣita said in the Tattvasamgraha, "In the chapter refuting the permanence of things, some non-Buddhists consider things like pots to be impermanent things, and things like atoms and space to be permanent things. From this it follows that from the sound of change 'destruction-change,' destruction becomes an impermanent thing, and from destruction itself other things arise, so it is thought that destruction becomes a thing. Destruction does not have an undestroyed self, so it is not a thing that arises immediately from it. The sound of change of destruction-change does not indicate an impermanent thing, just as giving a person the label of a donkey does not make the person a donkey, destruction non-entity does not revert to being an entity again." As it is said there, "Destruction itself, because it is selfless, is not what arises immediately from it. The unarisen combined with the arisen is also like a lotus in the sky, etc. The so-called destruction-change, here, is to understand the meaning of 'not having become a thing,' and not wanting any proof. If some people are called donkeys, just by naming them that way, all the qualities of donkeys will not be obtained by them. The thing called destruction is the destruction of a thing, even when proving it, there is not even a little arising for this thing, so how could it transform? How could the thing of destruction itself be the nature of a thing? Because it is separated from the essence of a thing, it is considered non-existent, not because it is the essence of a thing. For this, through the path of proof, one does not even say the thing of transformation itself, the follower after the thing, will prevent it for a moment. Therefore, for the essence of this classification, there is not even a little proof. Therefore, for this, making the discrimination of permanence has no basis." Therefore, some non-Buddhists think that the impermanent thing of destruction will...

Indeed, it will become like that! He refuted it extensively like this. After such a bad conceptualization, how can one follow someone like the venerable Manjushri and the great Tsongkhapa? Because you are great upholders of the Buddhist teachings. Also, Tsongkhapa, some of your own sects, like saying that the three times (past, present, future) are substantially existent. As it is said in the Abhidharmakosha, "One is produced by the past." Like this, it is unreasonable to say that the past and future, the ceased and the unborn, can function. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika, in the twenty-sixth chapter, "Examination of the Three Times," in its commentary on difficult points: "Furthermore, are these past and future able to function, or are they not able to? These are two possibilities. If they are able to function, then when they have the ability, they would become present, just like the present that is not an object of dispute. The syllogism is: whatever is able to function is like this, just like the present that is not an object of dispute. The past and so on are also able to function." This would become a fallacy of the reason of self-nature. This is not uncertain, because if it is like this, if one separates from the present, then all the abilities of the ceased and the unborn would disappear, just like a lotus in the sky. The syllogism is: whatever is not happening in the present will not be able to function at any time, just like a lotus in the sky. The past and so on are also not present. This is the non-observation of the pervader. Thus, those former teachers who possessed the eye of Dharma have already greatly refuted those bad systems. In particular, how can it be that some people of one's own sect say that cessation and so on are substantially existent, and that such a bad system is a characteristic of the Madhyamaka-Prasaṅgika? Do you not accept the substantially existent of the past ceased? Even if you do not verbally accept that the past ceased can function, in reality, it does not seem to be anything other than the view of one's own sect that says things are substantially existent. In particular, to say that cessation is substantially existent is a characteristic of Chandrakirti and Dignāga, or that it is a special dharma, is merely forcibly imposing a burden on the teacher against his will. Because that teacher said that if the past and ceased things are substantially existent, then the past substantially existent has already arisen.
