Refutation of Other-Origination. Refutation of Other-Origination. Secondly, there are two parts: the actual refutation, and incidentally, the refutation of the Mind-Only school's view. First, there are two parts: stating the former position and refuting it. First: Here, our own school says that it is reasonable that things do not arise from themselves, because arising from oneself is meaningless. It is also reasonable that they do not arise from both, because one limb is missing. The position of having no cause is extremely inferior, so it is also reasonable to refute them. However, if someone says, "How can it arise from others?" (130a) That is unreasonable. Like this, the four conditions that are different from oneself, namely the causal condition, the objective condition, the immediate condition, and the dominant condition, are the factors that produce things, so one must rely on the scriptures and unwillingly admit that things arise from otherness. Some of them say that the causal condition is the five causes out of the six causes, except for the efficient cause, namely the co-emergent cause, the similar cause, the corresponding cause, the pervasive cause, and the ripening cause, because they are definite there. The Treasury of Knowledge says, "Cause is the five causes." All phenomena that the six consciousnesses individually objectify in an appropriate way are the objective condition. The Treasury of Knowledge says, "Objective condition is all phenomena." Except for the mind that enters into the state of no remainder, the mind and mental factors are the immediate condition. The Treasury of Knowledge says, "The mind and mental factors that arise, the non-final similar one is the immediate condition." The efficient cause is the dominant condition, which is the view of the Vaibhashika school that speaks of six causes and four conditions. Other Sautrantika schools say that things arise only from the four conditions. The nature of the cause that produces, or existing in the nature of the seed that produces, is the causal condition. Just as an old man leans on a cane to stand up, the mind and mental factors arise from the cause, and what they rely on to arise is the objective condition, which is the basis of the nature of the phenomenon that is arising. The moment immediately after the cause ceases is the immediate condition for the arising of the result, just as the destruction immediately after the seed ceases is the immediate (130b) condition for the sprout. For the immediate condition, the Vaibhashikas consider the mind and

The object of destruction of the previous self-similar class of mental factors is the immediately preceding condition. The Sautrāntikas, however, posit that the non-substantial cessation of the previous self-similar class of mind and mental factors is the immediately preceding condition. The former tenet is better. (So, does Tsongkhapa think that it is reasonable to say that destruction is substantial, because the Sautrāntikas say that it is the substantial destruction of the immediately preceding condition?) The way of admitting is different. The Vaibhāṣikas think that the immediately preceding object of the later object ceases in its own time. It opens the way for the arising of the later, and is the immediately preceding condition of the later. And in the place of its destruction, the later object is obtained, and from this point of view, destruction is established as substantial. But destruction itself is not established as substantial. The Sautrāntikas think that destruction is non-substantial, so they do not think it is substantial. And the fact that non-substantial destruction acts as a substantial condition is refuted by the reasoning of the Yogācāras, which is widely found in the treatises of previous teachers. Note: (Because non-substantiality does not become a condition for substantiality. If something exists, then what arises, that is the autonomous condition. If the active cause among the six causes is summarized as a condition, it is summarized as an autonomous condition. Also, other conditions arise together, such as sprouts and the shadows of sprouts, lamps and the light of lamps, etc., which belong to the category of autonomous conditions. Later, the knowable, the future consciousness becomes the cause of the present, and the fruit arises before the cause, such as birds taking flight and fish jumping, which are caused by the dawn and the rain, so they belong to the category of causal conditions. Power, etc., are not the fifth condition for producing objects, because their successive and simultaneous functions in producing objects are empty, so it is said. Second, the arising from others is refuted in both truths, and the meaning established by the refutation, and the debate on the refutation is refuted. First, only the arising from others is refuted, and the refutation in name is refuted. First, if the cause and effect are different entities, there will be too much fault. It is explained that the cause and effect cannot be different entities at the same time. Through the fourfold examination, it is impossible for the effect to depend on the time of the cause. First, the fault of being too extreme, and the refutation of the answer to avoid the fault. The first is, if it depends on others, if he
