It is not to make the earth perish, but from the cause of perishing itself, the cause of making perish is also accomplished in that very thing. If one's own self is not born as the nature of perishing, then the other as the destroyer cannot make the other the nature of perishing. Because, for the Dharma that is unrelated to negation and affirmation and has become other, the actions of benefit and harm do not follow each other. Therefore, destruction and impermanence have causes, because if destruction and impermanence are considered to exist, it contradicts having no cause. But for disappearance, there is no cause, because it is not an object that can be closely grasped. Even so, for disappearance, the previous object has ceased, and even if it has not become the next object, the word of destruction is applied only considering the cessation of the previous object. Even so, for disappearance, the object that can be benefited cannot be benefited by the object that benefits, therefore, both the causes of self and other destruction do not exist. Although for destruction, there is no other meaning of the cause of destruction, from the cause of producing itself, the cause of destruction is also accomplished without dependence. Thus, the glorious Sakya Paṇḍita said in the root and commentary of the "Treasury of Reasoning": The object to be destroyed, and, both the disappeared non-object, the meaning of the word destruction may appear, but both do not need a cause. The word called destruction is also used for objects that are the cause of destruction such as a vase or a tree, and it is also used for non-existence after disappearance, therefore Dharmakīrti said that there is no cause in the case of the object to be destroyed, which means that destruction itself is an object, so it does not need to rely on other causes that produce the object. In the case of suspecting that non-existence after disappearance is destruction, no cause means that there is absolutely no cause, because destruction is a non-object. In either case, it is clear that destruction does not need a cause. If you do not understand this intention, then explaining the scriptures will become confused, this is a good explanation. Therefore, when the destruction of the previous object ceasing or stopping begins, the destruction of the later object arising begins. The previous object ceases and disappears, because it is not an object, so the later object will arise in the place where it did not block, and there will be a birth of arising and ceasing. If analyzed, arising and ceasing are simultaneous, arising is not established, because stopping and disappearing are not included by time. Then, stopping and disappearing and arising

If asked, do the two, arising and ceasing, simultaneously exist in two destructive substances? It is not so, but for arising and ceasing, destruction has two functions: the destruction of itself and the production of other destructive things; while the destruction of cessation has only one function, the destruction of itself, and it is through this difference that the two are clearly distinguished. (197b) Therefore, although the destruction of a thing is the destruction of the thing itself, the destruction of the thing itself, that is, the destruction of the thing abandoning its nature, is merely a negation and has not become a thing, because it is separated from all functions. Even so, destruction is only nominally designated as non-existence, but destruction is not necessarily to be acknowledged as the basis of non-existence. As it is said, "When a thing transforms into another, people call it non-existence." People in the world only call something that does not exist in things as non-existence. Therefore, the self-established non-existence as conceived by some internal and external heretics is unreasonable, and this is also widely discussed in scriptures such as the Madhyamaka treatises. The third part includes: being completely unreasonable because it contradicts reason, and being completely unreasonable because it contradicts scriptural evidence. The first case is: if destruction is substantial and is the cause of the subsequent non-destroyed thing, then it necessarily follows that a destructive thing will arise between the previous and subsequent non-destroyed things. Because this substantial destruction is the producer of things that have arising. If admitted, then it necessarily follows that this destructive thing will not again change from destruction to non-destruction, because it has the end of destructive things. If admitted, then it necessarily follows that this destructive thing will not become the permanent producer of non-destroyed things, because the destruction of destructive things will not change from destruction to non-destruction. To this, someone might think that it is not so, even if the destructive thing itself arises as a destructive thing, it is established as the producer of other non-destroyed things. But it is not so, because it itself does not exist in things (198a), therefore it cannot make other things exist. Moreover, for the continuous arising of phenomena, if destruction becomes substantial and there is no interruption between non-destroyed things, then either destruction and non-destroyed things arise simultaneously, or there is an interruption between non-destroyed things, resulting in the alternating arising of destruction and non-destroyed things. Such a view would not be accepted by any proponent of Buddhist tenets.
