Thus it is said. (163b) Thus it is. This principle is considered to be that the lifeblood essence of all definitive meanings of Sutra and Tantra cannot be abandoned. From the venerable Saraha and the glorious Shavari Wangchuk, to the venerable Marpa Mila and others in close lineage, the Dharma tradition of the Great Seal that does not focus on the mind and transcends thought is precisely this. Later, what made this Dharma tradition most clear was that Avalokiteshvara Mitra Joki imparted to Khro Phu Lotsawa the definitive meaning of Sutra and Tantra, the infinite instructions on the Great Seal that does not focus on the mind. Nowadays, many people agree that this is the tradition of the Chinese Heshang. Those who say such things, do they have a heart in their chest? Do they have eyes on their forehead? Is their memory still in their brain? Second, the reason why the world is not a valid means of knowledge. Therefore, the world cannot harm it. Incidentally, it shows the object that the world harms. First, if the world is a valid means of knowledge, then: If the world is a valid means of knowledge, then, what is the use of other noble ones seeing the world itself? What is the use of the noble path? Even the foolish should not be considered a valid means of knowledge. If, at this time of analysis, the world's view is a valid means of knowledge, then, as a subject, what is the use of the wisdom of other noble ones who show it? There is no need, because worldly people see the reality of things established by valid means, thereby abandoning the irrational. To this, no Prasangika Madhyamaka has appeared to respond. Regarding the way of establishing the sign and pervasion, the Gelugpas consider that worldly people see the reality of things established by valid means, not that the reality of things that function in the conventional is seen as validly established by nominal valid means, but that worldly people see the true appearance of the object to be refuted by the sign as established by worldly valid means (164a). Therefore, in the true appearance, there are also two types: the true appearance of the object of attachment that is deluded about conventional phenomena, and the true appearance of the truth that is not deluded, but merely the ability of things to function. The former is what is to be abandoned, and the latter is the truth to be accomplished as the basis for acceptance and rejection. Therefore, according to our way of establishing the sign, the sign and pervasion can be established. If it is not so, then the previous way of establishing the sign...

Therefore, the followers embellished it with many details, saying that this way is the tenet of the Prasangika Madhyamaka, and the warm nectar of the speech of the venerable Manjushri. But this is difficult for me to accept. Because in that case, in conventional truth, there are two kinds of truth: the true appearance that is true in the establishment of terms that have been measured as valid by the minds of worldly people, and the true appearance that is true in the object of delusion. And there are three truths, including the ultimate truth, which is different from these. When the teacher Chandrakirti distinguishes the two truths in accordance with worldly speech, it should not appear as "two things, attainment, and nature will be held," but should appear as "three things, attainment, and nature will be held." And in those root texts and commentaries, there will be a way of establishing the three truths. Furthermore, here there will be a change, if "the world is valid," then the world that you have set up as the object of refutation of the proof can be the world (164b) that is free from the immediate cause of confusion of the twelve internal and external sources. If that is the case, then such a worldly measure is unknown in the world, because if the way of abiding that is established from the object itself is not established in the world, then the measure that holds it will not be established in the world at all. In particular, the Bhagavan, based on the assumption that merely conventional things have meaning, in the world, with the freedom of correct and incorrect discriminations, the consciousness is considered valid, thus distinguishing between truth and falsehood, all of which, when thinking about reality, are said not to be valid. However, regarding the fact that conventional things have meaning, not a single word has been said to distinguish between whether worldly minds are valid or not. If it were said, then in order to fulfill that intention, the teacher Nagarjuna and his sons, along with their followers, should have said so, but they did not. Because you cannot find a single clear verse to prove that they said so, so for the teachings of the profound Dharma, there is nothing to cite other than the teachings of Manjushri.
