Because it is not admitted that conventional truth exists in meaning, it is pervasive. Because the two are interdependent. The rationality of this reason has been extensively explained by me in the first and fourth chapters of 'Distinguishing Views,' so those who wish to understand should realize it there. Thus, in meaning (153a), no valid cognition can establish a truly established ultimate truth that possesses such characteristics. Even so, if one holds to the extreme of existence, and ultimate truth is established in meaning, then there must be a truly established ultimate truth that possesses such characteristics. However, we Prasangikas harm such a truly established ultimate truth with such characteristics through rational analysis, so it cannot be established there either. Because it is not established there, for both truths, from the beginning, self-nature emptiness, the three of name, signified, and basis, the three of measure, result, and measured, all the elaborations of object and subject are completely absent, like not being able to write letters in the sky. For that which has become inexpressible, inconceivable, and unutterable, in the face of children, that is, worldly people, it is merely nominally referred to as ultimate truth in name only, and thus established. Therefore, in order to dispel the great wrong view that truly established and other elaborations of nominal two truths enter into the nature of knowable things, there is a special need, as the complete and perfect Buddha and the venerable Nagarjuna have well explained. As it is said: "The Buddhas teach the Dharma, relying on the two truths." In particular, the truth of ultimate truth, even if it is not established as an elaboration of truth, etc., in the two truths, if this establishment is not made, one will not comprehend the profound suchness. In short, son of good family, if the ultimate did not exist, then the practice of Brahman would become meaningless, and the appearance of the Tathagatas would also become meaningless (153b). Because the ultimate exists, therefore the Bodhisattvas are skilled in the ultimate. Thus it is said. Such two truths are not spoken in that way because they are fundamentally established in meaning in the sight of the noble ones, but in order for those worldly people to realize suchness, in accordance with the worldly terms of truth and falsehood, etc., the Bhagavan made the establishment of the two truths in their presence. What is established by the Madhyamaka's own system is
