It is also not reasonable to accept the permanent dharma as the meaning of the result. It is also unreasonable to infer or contradict others' vows, because it is only spoken by the accomplishment of both. As it is said, the meaning is that the logicians are commentators on the "Hundred Treatises." If the Vaisheshikas accept that the atoms of the four elements are not born, then they are born, because they are the cause. It is not reasonable to prove impermanence by establishing birth in this way, because the atoms of the four elements established by others should not be real things. Here it is said that the subject of the dharma is not established. On top of that subject of dharma, the cause with the meaning of the result is not established in oneself, so it does not become a reason. If it is not established in oneself, but it is accepted that it is established in others as a reason, then it is too much. If it is established in others, and one temporarily accepts it, if one thinks of reversing the other's system, then one accepts what is unreasonable, and by this one wants to reverse the other's mistake (༨༡ན). It is also extremely unreasonable to say harm to others, it must also be something that is accomplished by the consensus of both, because one's own words without definite understanding cannot generate pure validity in the mindstream of others. The meaning of harm must also generate definite understanding in the respondent, and by this one must eliminate his wrong discriminations. Thus, because there are many times when one cannot reverse wrong discriminations in front of others with bad reasons that are accepted by others, it is not appropriate to combine such times, it is the most important secret point. In particular, when one's own Madhyamikas protect the tenets of inner Buddhism, if one holds the mouth of one's own lower division, and when one prevents other sects, if one says that the reason of other sects is valid, then one will condemn the tenets of one's own sect. Also, when inner heretics and Madhyamikas debate, what to say of one's own continuum, since the inner heretics establish the aggregates and other dharmas as true, there is no valid measure accepted by others. Therefore, one should not accept such a valid measure accepted by others. Thus, the teacher Chandrakirti said in the commentary on the sixteenth chapter of the "Entering the Middle Way": Those who speak of the reason of emptiness do not accept the reasons that are famous in other treatises, because they want to show that those other treatises are unreasonable.

Therefore, wherever disputants hold views, both have accepted the meaning, so only reason is the measure. If one speaks of reason, one only grasps the extreme of unestablished and unreasonable meaning. It says, and its meaning is that when two disputants argue about the suchness of things, reason must only enter into the realm where neither has seen harm by valid cognition (81b). If one speaks with true attachment to one side accepted as valid cognition by oneself or others, there is neither victory nor defeat. Whatever enters into the suchness of that thing will not be understood by those disputants. That is his thought. In particular, when arguing with other disputants, it is said that the consequentialist does not argue at all in accordance with the refutation and establishment of the glorious Dharmakirti, and that the consequentialist admits five kinds of consequences, such as expressing contradictions, which are uncommon characteristics of refutation and establishment. This is an unparalleled contradiction of one's own words. The unestablished, which is the same as what is to be established, and the balance of reasons, are explained in Dharmakirti's system as answers that appear to be refutations, but are actually answers to the unestablished sign and pervasion. The consequence of expressing contradictions is explained in that system as the correct consequence of refuting the other's position, and the inference of what is known to others is not absent from that system. Because in that system, if the establishing consequence that can generate inference in the opponent is related to many, it pervades with parts. For example, like the four yew trees in different containers. The generality of the ox is also admitted to be related to its many appearances. Because that is the very statement he made. Therefore, is it not ridiculous to say that the consequentialist's way of refutation and establishment is different from Dharmakirti's way of refutation and establishment? Also, (82a) to say that there is no commitment to one's own system is not a characteristic of the consequentialist's own system. Because the consequentialist is free from saying, thinking, and speaking about his own system, therefore, saying that the consequentialist has no commitment should not be speculated upon by thought. Therefore, Master Maitripa said in the Ten Realities: If one speaks of the Madhyamaka system, one should speak according to the system of the great master Chandrakirti.
