It is said. In the commentary on the Ten Suchness, it is said that in order to maintain the tenets of Chandrakirti, the valid means used in debate must be spoken in accordance with the tenets of Dignāga and Dharmakīrti. Otherwise, it will not be possible to refute illogical views, nor will it be possible to inspire logical thinking. As it is said: In this path, most logicians follow the path of the tenets written and initiated by Dharmakīrti, the jewel on the crown of all logicians, and integrate all the discourses in this way, rather than relying solely on personal arrogance. It is mentioned therein that when the Madhyamaka-Prāsaṅgika engage in debate, although they rely on the method of debate of that tenet, the Madhyamaka-Prāsaṅgika should not regard such valid means as being self-established in both truths. If one follows their path, will it also become self-established? No, it is not. Even if one temporarily and extensively elucidates external objects due to necessity, it will eventually be overturned by later reasoning. The second point is that, in general, for both the Madhyamaka-Svātantrika and Prāsaṅgika, the profound emptiness of the Dharmadhātu is the object of observation of the ultimate truth, and the sphere of activity of the wisdom that realizes this emptiness is the state of peace that is free from all elaboration. This is what the Prāsaṅgika say, and the Svātantrika do not have different views. In order to praise the teacher who, starting from the emptiness of the object of observation, symbolically expresses the inexpressible, it is said in the Blaze of Intellect: Who has not thoroughly examined that suchness, is not an object of consciousness, is not a basis, cannot be symbolized, is not a sign, cannot be known, has no birth or death, has bliss, is not a distinction, has no appearance, has no characteristics, has no elucidation, is not dual, has no duality, is not existence, the sphere of peace and wisdom is completely abandoned, has no letters but with letters, teaches with great compassion, proclaims the unerring teacher, to him I respectfully prostrate. The nature of the object of observation of profound emptiness is not visible in itself, but it is called visible. Therefore, it is said there: Not thoroughly examined, not consciousness, not an object of examination, without example, without characteristics, without appearance, without distinction, without letters, is to be realized by the wisdom of seeing.

"It is seeing because of not seeing." Thus it is said. Such wisdom that realizes emptiness, by its very nature of being free from the elaboration of subject and object, all the engagements of knowable and knowing do not abide, and from the great ocean of the ultimate truth of Nirvana, the unarisen Dharmakaya is what sentient beings call Buddha and Tathagata, but this is merely a designation. In reality, such a Dharma is truly beyond the realm of linguistic conventions. On this, the teachers of Prasangika and Svatantrika schools unanimously (83a) agree with one voice. As it says in the *Tarkajvala* (Blazing Logic): "Like an eye free from cataracts, in one without the stain of conceptualization, hairs, flies, double moons, and the colors of peacock feathers are not seen. The wise, free from the obscurations, darkness, and cataracts of afflictions and knowable objects, in a pure eye of true knowledge, likewise, nothing appears. For example, when one falls asleep and is overcome by sleep, one sees boys, girls, palaces, places, and so on, but upon awakening, one does not see them. Similarly, conventional knowledge, when the eye of wisdom is opened, and one is separated from the sleep of ignorance and awakens, one does not see those things. For example, in the darkness of night, one does not see what is real and unreal, but when the sun rises and the eye opens, it does not appear in the same way. Likewise, when the wise one, with the sun of true knowledge, destroys all the habits of ignorance, one does not see mind, mental factors, and objects." And again, it says there: "Because existence and non-existence are to be apprehended by the mind, and because they are blocked, likewise, the non-conceptual wisdom of the wise arises in the manner of being unborn." Furthermore, it is explained that not only does the Buddha not have conceptual thought, but also that he is devoid of the elaborations that are the cause of non-conceptual wisdom. As it is said: "Non-conceptual objects of meaning, all consciousnesses also generate non-conceptualization, because of the nature of selflessness and so on, like consciousnesses with conceptualization. Because all knowable things are not established, the non-conceptual consciousness also does not arise in that which is not transformed; that is what the Unequaled One knows." Therefore, to realize it (83b) whoever has no arising of consciousness is the real Buddha, because conceptualization is abandoned, and non-conceptualization is increased. And so on, it extensively appears in the system of the Svatantrika school.
