Those that are known as mental event valid cognitions are considered to be causes of the bondage of conceptualization itself, and not valid cognitions of objects. As it says in the Two Truths: "Mind and mental events, the three realms, are conceptualizations with fabricated aspects. They are the very cause of bondage, as you see them, so it is said." Thus it is said. 2. If the Svātantrika speaks in this way without carefully distinguishing the difference of admitting the valid cognition of the force of objects, then there is a great fault. The so-called force of objects is that the part of the object that performs a function does not depend on anything else, but performs the function by the power of the nature of the object itself. And that kind of function is also self-established. Such a self-established valid cognition is said to be the valid cognition of the force of objects. In the Commentary on Valid Cognition, when admitting the valid cognition of the force of objects that negates aspects, as it is said: "Whoever analyzes objects, at that very time that object is non-existent, because on those there is no nature of one and many." And "As one thinks of objects, so one is separated from aspects, what the wise say, that is what comes from the force of objects." Because of admitting it in this way. Therefore, if objects are established by the force of their own nature, and the Svātantrika admits the valid cognition that is established in that way, then wouldn't all the efforts of hearing, thinking, and meditating to accumulate merit for the purpose of explaining, debating, and composing to prove that all phenomena such as objects are empty of their own essence and are not established as self-established become meaningless? Think well. 3. It is unreasonable for the Svātantrika to think that emptiness is established in one's own experience, and to speak only of the valid cognition of that way of experience, and not to speak of anything else. Because even when the Svātantrika experiences profound emptiness in his own mind, he says that he has not realized the profound meaning of emptiness, and thus says that the profound meaning of emptiness is beyond the scope of the mind. In the Blaze of Reasoning it says: "In the presence of conceptualization and the absence of conceptualization, when the mind turns away, at that time the mind has no object, the cessation of elaboration is peace." And in the Two Truths it says: "Since there is no object to be negated, in reality there is clear non-obstruction." And in the Ornament of the Middle Way
