Sa. If explained in detail, it is like this: if one considers sound to be a dharma arising from the four great elements, then this is not established for the other Vaisheshikas. However, if one considers sound to be a quality of space, then this is not established for oneself, the Buddha. Similarly, the Sravaka Vaibhashikas (in the commentary of Drangsrong Sharwai Tsiksal, it is said that there are Vaisheshikas here, but it does not refer to the non-Buddhist Vaisheshikas. The Sravakas also speak similarly to the Vaisheshikas regarding indivisible particles, so they are called Vaibhashikas. When abbreviated, it is referred to as Sravaka Vaibhashikas). (When the Samkhyas also assert that sound is impermanent, if one considers the produced sound to be the dharma, then this is not established for the other Samkhyas. However, if one considers it to be the sound that was previously present and is made manifest, then this is not established for oneself, the Vaibhashikas. Just as one speaks of the subject of dharma, one should also apply it to the dharma itself according to reason. If one makes destruction the object to be proven with a cause, then this is not established for the Buddha himself. However, if one makes causeless destruction the object to be proven, then this is not established for the other Vaisheshikas (118b). Therefore, just as one holds only the general characteristic of dharma and the subject of dharma here, will the Madhyamikas also hold only the locus of arising within the subject of dharma, abandoning the distinction between truth and falsehood, when establishing selflessness for the Samkhyas? The answer is: holding only the general characteristic of the subject of dharma is not reasonable, as the skillful one says. Because just as within the realists, holding the general characteristic of the object of sound, abandoning permanence and impermanence, one can find a basis for agreement between the proponent and opponent, it is impossible for the Madhyamikas and the realists to find such a general characteristic of objects that is established in a common appearance. If it were possible, then the mere object would have to be established as the very object of ultimate and conventional reality. However, the Madhyamikas state that such an object in the two truths is empty, as it is not established by its own nature in either of the two truths. This argument is accepted by the great teacher, the skillful one. Those teachers hold that dharma in both of the two truths is devoid of the nature of real and imputed objects.

Because it is the present-day Madhyamika. Bhavyaviveka thus refutes the self-origination of the Samkhyas, when they consider the cessation of birth here as the dharma to be established, only the unborn can be inferred thereafter, its basis of the subject, the mere origination within the subject of the conventional mind, the nature of the origination within the subject of the inverted mind is obtained, is the non-inverted mind of the noble equipoise wisdom, such a subject in both truths is not established as a real and imputed object, but has fallen from the real dharma, Bhavyaviveka himself has already promised (119a). The inverted conventional mind, such as the origination in the object of measuring the conventional, etc., the non-inverted noble mind that realizes the reality, the object of measuring the ultimate truth, free from elaboration, etc., are different in the face of the mind of error and non-error. In the object of the inverted consciousness, the knowable is also inverted, except for one inverted knowable, the non-inverted knowable will never change in its object, therefore, for example, when the eye consciousness with cataracts regards hair, etc. as existing, as if clinging to the non-inverted, the mind with the inverted object, when the inverted object exists and does not exist, clings to it as existing, the non-inverted knowable, and the part of the meaning that will exist on the imputed object, how can it be apprehended? In the object of the non-inverted consciousness, assuming that the non-inverted knowable appears, when the eyes without cataracts do not apprehend hair, etc., the Madhyamika with the non-inverted consciousness does not add to the unreal, even at that time, in that way the non-inverted intellect, in any way, will not add the non-existent knowable to the existent, therefore, in that consciousness, the internal origination turns into the conventional, the meaningful part like hair that does not exist and turns into existence, how can it be apprehended? Eyes, etc., the ultimate truth, should not be established as the subject, because the three, namely, expression, intellect, and the wisdom of the noble ones, are not established. Because the non-inverted consciousness, the subject transformed in the two truths is not established. (119b) In front of the teacher.
