It should be so. If one doubts, saying that because (you) claim that the two expressions of subsequent inference are consistent. Then, this distinction is reasonable. Because Lekden's treatise explicitly records this, it has become an untimely, flawed subsequent inference. (112b) Although it is not explicitly stated in Buddhapālita's treatise, it is not a flawed subsequent inference because it is expressed through the power of thinking about the meaning. Although it seems to have been answered in this way, if one examines this doubt and answer, I cannot answer this doubt no matter how I think about it, so I have to make this useless answer, which is to show to others. Fifth, the meaning of refuting the reductio ad absurdum is also related to the opponent Samkhya school, but not to us Madhyamikas. Because for oneself, none of the four aspects, whether it is a commitment, or the reason for proving it, or universality, has been proven by the measure of one's own school. Therefore, how can we have a situation that contradicts the established school? Because there is (a contradictory situation), by refuting meaningless arising, it proves (this point), the more faults that the opponent has that contradict the commitment, the more we want to manifest. Therefore, how can other realists find flaws in Buddhapālita's words? How can the teacher Buddhapālita, who follows the non-inverted school of Nāgārjuna, have spoken words with flaws? Again, some people think that because the one who speaks the reductio ad absurdum is a Madhyamika, there is a fault related to refutation. Then, when the Madhyamika who speaks of no self-nature performs a reductio ad absurdum on the thing that speaks of self-nature, how can the reductio ad absurdum become meaningful in the sense of the opposite of the reductio ad absurdum for the Madhyamika who speaks the reductio ad absurdum? (113a) Because it is not said with the intention of refuting. Its pervasiveness is that the sounds of the words that speak of reductio ad absurdum, for example, just as someone with a rope involuntarily entangles someone, it is not to make the speaker involuntary. As (the scripture) says: "Sound follows the intention to express." Therefore, if it is speech that has the ability to express meaning, then it follows the intention of the speaker to express. For this reason, establishing a reductio ad absurdum is stating an internal contradiction.

The function of is merely to prevent the opponent's commitment, therefore, for the consequentialist Madhyamaka who states the conclusion, there is no meaning of returning from the conclusion. Sixth, Buddhapālita eliminates the other side with merely the conclusion, and so did the teacher Nāgārjuna. As it says: Before the characteristic of space, space does not exist at all. If the characteristic precedes the name, then it would follow that there is no characteristic. Similarly, if form exists without the cause of form, then form would follow to be without cause. Whatever is without cause does not exist. And, nirvāṇa is not a real entity, it would follow that it has the characteristic of aging and death. That which does not have aging and death is not without a real entity. And so on, mostly they eliminate the views of others only through establishing the conclusion. 'Mostly' means that in some cases, for the conclusion that they do not want, in order to refute them, they make it the object to be proven, and from their own commitment side (113b) they also refute it by stating it universally. As it says: Whatever dharma the Blessed One said is deceptive, that is said to be false. All conditioned things are of the nature of deception, therefore they are false. In the commentary of the Clear Words, it says: All conditioned things are also of the nature of deception, therefore, those conditioned things are of the nature of deception, so they will become false. Among them, that which is of the nature of deception is that which deceives and appears as the opposite, like a fire wheel. Because its own nature is not like that, therefore all conditioned things are false, because they are of the nature of deception, like the water of a mirage. Whatever is true, that is of the nature of deception, for example, nirvāṇa. Therefore, from the reason of the teachings and the scriptural authority, things are proven to be without inherent existence. As it is said in the Perfection of Wisdom, all dharmas are emptiness, that is, in the manner of being without inherent existence. And so on, many things have appeared, so think well about this meaning. Some Tibetans think that the consequentialists refute the conclusion that inherent existence exists, and like that, the words that establish it, also establish the words of proof that prove the absence of inherent existence, that is absolutely not right. If it were so, the consequentialists themselves
