Even if there is a fault of clarity, the ultimate truth is free from all elaborations, and the conventional truth is merely dependent on appearance, so I do not have the commitment to establish the two truths as my own tenet established by valid cognition (106a). Therefore, I have no fault of not establishing the subject, reason, and example of self-origination being unborn. If the four valid cognitions, such as direct perception, observe and establish some real phenomena, then if there is something to be established as one's own tenet or to be refuted from one's own tenet, it may be established. But since there is no such thing, I, as a Prasangika, have no accusation of not stating my own tenet's subject, reason, and example, etc. So it is said. Also, some say that the statement that Madhyamikas do not have the commitment of their own system is made from the perspective of establishing complete exclusion, not from the perspective of what is to be excluded by distinction. Because what is excluded by distinction is neither existent nor non-existent. The object to be established by the Madhyamika is also merely a distinctionless negation. So they say. If that is the case, then Madhyamikas should not have the commitment to negate by distinction. Because the commitment to negate by distinction is not a commitment, because such a thing is neither existent nor non-existent in general. Or Madhyamikas should have the commitment to establish complete exclusion. Because they have the commitment to what is to be excluded by distinction. If they have it, then what is it that they completely exclude by distinguishing? Because one function of the valid cognition that establishes there eliminates the three aggregates there until it is distinguished and not completely excluded. If you say it is not pervasive, then there is no reason why it is not pervasive, because it is equally dependent. If a Svatantrika-Madhyamika says that in the conventional, a conventional valid cognition establishes a conventional phenomenon, and there is a valid cognition with an unerring apprehension that corresponds to the nature of that phenomenon (106b), then that Madhyamika would not become a true Madhyamika. Is that valid cognition with unerring apprehension established as the nature of valid cognition in the conventional or not? If it is not established, then it is not a valid cognition even in the conventional. If it is established, then what the Madhyamika's reasoning refutes is the acceptance of the conventional as the nature of the conventional. So what is the point of sitting in the ranks of the noble and being busy with the deeds of the base? The third is: When one's own system is established by valid cognition.

If one does not establish it, when the Madhyamika who speaks in this way does not express the subsequent inference of his own continuum, then the other Samkhyas have the thorn of fault in the proposition and sign, saying, "What is the meaning of the proposition 'I am unborn'?" Is it that 'I' means that there is no birth from the nature of the effect? Or is it that there is no birth from the nature of the cause? What will change from that? If you say that there is no birth from the nature of the effect, then what is the use of proving what is already proven? If you say that there is no birth from the nature of the cause, then it becomes a contradictory meaning, because all those who have birth are those who exist in the nature of the cause, and that is why they are born. To whom should such words be spoken, and how should these faults be eliminated? It is not necessary to eliminate the fault of saying this, because he said that there is no self-birth to refute the self-birth that his own system considers to be valid, but he did not establish that his own (107a) system considers the self-birth to be non-existent. The Samkhyas and others will become inverted, and how can there be a self-continuum proposition that the inner birth places and others are not born from the self? Likewise, for us, what is already proven is what is to be proven? Moreover, it becomes a contradictory meaning, because there is effort to abandon what is already proven and what is the contradictory meaning. How can there be a reason established by the valid self-system? If there is no such thing, how can one eliminate its faults? Just as there is no need to protect against hail when there are no crops. For the reason just mentioned, since it does not become a fault spoken by others, the teacher Sangyas Kyang said that what is already proven is what is to be proven, and that what is to be proven contradicts what is to be proven, and that there is no need to answer it. Here, in the old books of the past, when the Svātantrikas and others eliminate this fault, although it is not the birth from the nature of both cause and effect, we Madhyamikas are born in name, false, and like illusions, and such birth is not contradictory to the birth of dependent origination, and even in that birth, if one examines it in this way with reason, then birth is not established, but
