This is not the case now, because in both truths, one is free from all elaborations of valid cognition, etc. (104b), and it is not that the views praised by others are not explained, because that will be explained below. Here, by questioning the establishment of the Samkhya's assertion of 'self-origination' through internal contradictions of what is admitted, it is also possible to refute their wrong views. Because, the meaning of the Samkhyas' clinging to 'born from the self' is: the existence of the same nature as the result is the cause itself, and it is said that it itself arises. And the statement 'born from the self, because born from what exists as the self' is a contradictory pervasion, because existence itself is birth, so there is no need for birth, and if it arises in this way, it will also be seen that birth is endless. By saying this, they cannot accept that fault, because you Samkhyas do not want what has been born to be born again, and you do not want it to be endless. Therefore, your Samkhyas' argument about the existence of 'self-origination' is devoid of the justification of proof, and if existence arises, then birth is unnecessary and endless. If one speaks of what is unreasonable as reasonable, then it is contradictory to what one has admitted. This is to ask questions to refute the opponent's assertion of 'born from the self.' Just as the opponent, the Svatantrika, through the reason and example established by the Svatantrika's valid cognition, causes the 'self-origination' to be refuted and bring about results, if the consequentialist debates only through these refutations that express contradictions, then wouldn't the opponent, the Samkhya, admit that their own tenets are contradictory in what is to be established and what establishes it? Knowing the contradiction is the direct action of the refutation, (105a) abandoning the tenets is the indirect action. If one debates only through these reasons and examples that bring about results, then this way of explaining seems common in early documents on this matter, but the connection is not very strong. Therefore, the consequentialist, for the sake of the internal contradictions praised by the Samkhyas, through the reasons and examples praised by others that they approve of, causes the 'self-origination' to be refuted and bring about results, and it is better that this statement appears in some ancient books.

However, if even refuting the opponent, the Samkhya, with their own admitted views cannot prevent self-origination, then even stating the reason and example established by one's own system's valid cognition will not change the tenet of self-origination, because that person is shameless. If one states correct reasons and examples, one can prevent self-origination, because the three aspects are established by one's own system's valid cognition, thereby refuting the opponent's view. If one says this, then refutation can also do the same, because the proof is established by admission, so refuting the opponent is the same. If showing such harm of reason cannot prevent it, then we are not arguing with a madman either, and the word "also" is used again to indicate shamelessness. Therefore, the teacher Lekdenjed is not abiding in any aspect established by the Madhyamaka system itself, but when fully engaging in inference following that (105b), he manifests a fondness for inference following what is established by the Svabhavavada (self-nature) system. It is merely manifesting fondness, and even if one examines both truths, there is no dharma that can be found to be established by one's own system's valid cognition and then established. Secondly, if one is a Madhyamika, then it is also unreasonable to infer about one's own continuum, because it is not establishing the non-erroneous knowledge of what is to be inferred by the inference newly established as established by one's own system's valid cognition, because there is no admission that something is established by one's own system's valid cognition as being erroneous from aspects other than non-erroneousness. For example, one cannot find an inference that exists in one's own system that can be thoroughly established, because to find it, one must establish an inference that does not exist in another system and thoroughly establish it, but in this system, such establishment is also said to be only what should be refuted. As Aryadeva said: "Existence and non-existence and existence-non-existence, in which aspect is it not present? Then even for a long time, one cannot utter a fault." From the Refutation of Debate it is also said: "If I, a Madhyamika, have some commitment to the nature of existence and non-existence of real things established by valid cognition in both truths of my own system, then I have not set up a sign and example, and I have not received faults spoken by others."
