The fallacy of non-establishment, and the arguments for those fallacies, and after establishing the respective methods, recording the subsequent inferences, and establishing the methods after stating the commitment, although there are those who do this, at that time the fallacy proponent does not become a proponent of intrinsic existence, if one only says that they are a Madhyamika, because in both truths, they do not accept the proof (88a) established by their own system's valid cognition, and the object to be proven along with the entities, while not accepting these, in order to refute the wrong views of other opponents, one can state arguments in any way, because the attachment to the meaning of the relationship of signs, etc., also only exists in the position of others. For one's own side, all contradictory relationships of affirmation and negation disappear like a mirage in the sky. Therefore, speaking words follows the wishes of the person, but it is not like the iron hook that leads an elephant, being led while not wanting to. Therefore, in the Clear Words, it says, "Things do not arise from themselves, because for things that exist in their own nature, arising is also meaningless. The pot at the time of firing also does not need to arise because it exists like a manifest pot." This is also the fallacy proponent's statement to the Samkhyas, using the argument of intrinsic existence that generates inferences known to others, because if it were a fallacy, it would become a fallacy without acceptance, becoming a joke. Combining the argument of intrinsic existence in this way does not establish the object to be proven that is established by intrinsic existence or the valid cognition of one's own system, because the Madhyamika, based on the impartiality established by their own reasoning and self-established valid cognition, all statements of debate are only said to refute others. For such refutations, there are those who say it is a fallacy, and those who say it is a real statement, because the statement at that time appears to be the latter. So, without establishing one's own system and one's own side at all, merely refuting others is unnecessary, because refuting others (88b) is merely fault-finding without any meaning of establishment. It is not so, it is not said in that way for the sake of fault-finding with others, but whoever is a wise person abiding in a certain side, is wrongly conceiving of that suchness, and in order to make all those on that side, through reasonable arguments known to others, eliminate attachment to one side.

Because it is to allow beings who are free from discursive thoughts to comprehend that very suchness. Therefore, if one is a Madhyamika, it is not reasonable to infer based on one's own continuum. Regarding this statement, many famous individuals, both past and present, from the snowy land of Tibet (referring to Tibet), have not understood this profound point that I have spoken of. The Prasangika Madhyamikas, with the aim of seeking that very suchness, tame and gather disciples through debate. The Prasangika argument that does not propose a thesis, and the language of argumentation, only propose language that is consistent with the Prasangika argument and its basis. Because other than that, one should not, in front of others, commit to a view that others do not accept with one's own words, and propose its argumentation. Because if one were to propose in that way, it would become Svatantrika. Those who say these things, regarding the vast treatises of Acharya Shantarakshita and Chandrakirti, I have not even read them once, but am satisfied with some scattered treatises and a rough outline, and like livestock, gather in the midst of a crowd, making bad noises, saying that I am engaging in Madhyamika teachings, debates, and writings. This is entirely due to universal ignorance, and it is inevitable that these sounds are emitted, which appear like a clear mirror. In the Commentary on the Clear Words, it says, "This logician (referring to Acharya Gunamati)," this is also because the teacher is extremely proficient in all the great systems, both internal and external, such as sound and logic, and it is said from the perspective of profound and sharp wisdom, not because of the strong influence of worldly discursive thoughts clinging to real phenomena of conventional truth, to the extent that even in conventional truth, it is considered established by conventional valid cognition, and temporarily can be established, so he is called a logician. Therefore, when the Prasangika teachers rely on conventional truth to engage in acceptance and rejection for the sake of liberation, they do not accept or reject objects of conventional phenomena based on whether they can be analyzed and established by reason, but rather, for all beings, they abandon the aspects of affliction and accept the aspects of purification, merely in accordance with conventionality. This is not thinking about the nature of conventionality, but rather conforming without investigation. Because for the sake of liberation, the acceptance and rejection must be established by valid cognition in both the ultimate and conventional truths of one's own system.
