To say "not preventing arising etc. in conventional truth" is to guide worldly people, and it is said in the hope that the practice of beginners will be more meticulous. However, it is not necessary to admit it for that purpose. Even if it is necessary, it is not reasonable because it has already been extensively criticized as being contradictory to your own views. (178b) In particular, when the profound view of emptiness is determined and practiced through meditation, all elaborations and signs are cut off, and when entering into that emptiness, if it is said that "arising etc. in conventional truth is not prevented," then what could be worse than clinging to signs? Also, some, like Blo-brtan, say that the master Nagarjuna only negated the nature of the imputed, but did not negate the nature of the dependent arising. They also say that the Blessed One's words, such as "all dharmas are without self-nature, unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and naturally completely beyond sorrow," were spoken with reference to the absence of characteristics of the imputed, and not with reference to the dependent arising. Some Mind-Only and Madhyamaka people think that the imputed can be negated, but the appearance cannot be negated, and if it is negated, it will be harmed by direct perception etc. As it says in the Two Truths: Whatever is the nature of appearance, That is not negated. Whatever is experienced, Should not be negated. Whatever is the aspect of arising etc., Is appearance, and that is also, On "true" etc., Negating what is completely imputed by others. Therefore, here, Only such imputation should be negated. Negating what is not imputation, This will only harm oneself. And as it says in the Commentary: For what appears to discrimination, The main one etc. is truly, (179a) What has become the cause of things, Negate what is imputed by others. If someone asks, is it as it says in these treatises? There is no proof for asserting it in this way, so it cannot withstand scrutiny. For those who strongly crave things and think that the dependent arising and appearance are true and infallible, this treatise can also be quoted and distorted: When the imputed is imputed, by what reasoning, It is not permissible to arise from self and other, The same reasoning does not permit dependent arising either, Therefore, the arising of dependent arising

Attach this to: In conventional terms, also refuting other-origination, etc., this is to uproot the thorn of viewing even the remnants of the elaborations of other-origination and appearance, etc., as real. The great teacher Chandrakirti has well explained this. The great Lord Tsongkhapa said: The object to be refuted by the reasoning of the vast Madhyamika scriptures is the true establishment that is established by the way the object itself abides. This nominal valid establishment is not the object to be refuted by reasoning, because if it were, it would fall into a great extreme of nihilism. Saying this, the great teacher Chandrakirti, who possesses great compassion without objectification, has grasped the very aspect that is refuted in this root text and commentary, and is merely refuting this teacher. Just as Sakya Pandita said: Grasping the treatises of Dharmakirti, he refutes the reasoning of the great self. Monkeys dwelling in the forest scatter impurities on the trees. Just like that, saying that he is explaining the good system of Chandrakirti, he is diligently and vehemently refuting the profound intentions of Chandrakirti with a strong mind of attachment to reality, which is amazing. Therefore, the reasoning of the feet of the glorious Chandrakirti, please expound the treatise that reveals the stainless, for your system of speaking of reality, change the wording and expound the reasoning. At the time of true establishment, by what reasoning, the reasoning that self and other origination are not reasonable, by that reasoning, nominal valid establishment is not reasonable, by what is nominal valid establishment established? At the time of true establishment, by what reasoning, the reasoning that all elaborations and characteristics are pacified, why is that reasoning not the same as nominal valid establishment? By what is nominal valid establishment obtained? That which is established by nominal valid cognition, the proof is glorious

That debater said: In this Prāsaṅgika system, regarding the proof and the proven, he vehemently refutes whether they are established as the same, and refutes it. Alas! You claim to be Prāsaṅgikas, but you do not explain the meaning arising from the excellent Prāsaṅgika texts (180a), but instead say: "Whatever he refutes, he accepts." Secondly, although it is free from elaboration, the way in which it appears as cause and effect is not contradictory, thereby showing that it is free from permanence and annihilation. The first is: Empty things, such as images, etc., depend on the collection, and are not unknown. Just as there, from the emptiness of images, etc., the aspect of consciousness arises. Similarly, although all things are empty, they can arise from emptiness. If there is no arising by its own nature in the two truths, then how do the natures of arising, etc., appear in the world? If it is said that arising, etc., appear in the world, then in the world, in the two truths, arising, etc., are established as truly existent, which is extremely contradictory. Showing that things that are empty of their own nature, such as images and illusions, etc., depend on the collection of causes and conditions such as mirrors and faces, branches, pebbles, and mantras, and these objects are not unknown in the world. Although it is not a fruit that is truly self-existent, as an appearance of a fruit, it is established in dependence on causes and conditions, but the causes and conditions themselves are not truly self-existent. Just as in mirrors, etc., the cause of the objective condition, images, etc., is empty of its own nature, but from there, the fruit of the subjective consciousness will arise in the form of the image. Therefore, both cause and effect are not self-existent, just as an emanation arises from an emanation. In the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, it says: "The emanations of the Thus-Gone One are all empty, what need is there to speak of an emanation emanating an emanation?" Similarly, all false examples such as illusions should be applied and understood. Similarly, all things such as form, although they are empty of their own nature in the way that cause (180b) and effect are not established as different entities, the fruit of emptiness can arise very clearly from the emptiness of its own causes and conditions, merely as a designation in the face of the world, so it is said.
