The sixth arising of the mind of enlightenment. The sixth arising of the mind of enlightenment. Briefly showing the nature of the land with objects. Although it is said that there is no need to strive to understand this, if one does not understand this meaning, from where does this principle of such a Dharma, possessed of two wisdoms, arise? Thus one thinks. In the sixth, briefly showing the nature of the land with objects, extensively explaining the emptiness of objects, stating the qualities of the land and summarizing its meaning. In the first, the essence of the land, and stating the greatness of the qualities of the Prajñāpāramitā. The first is: the mind abides in the samādhi that is manifestly directed, and the perfect Buddha manifestly directs towards the Dharma, and seeing the suchness of the arising of the world, by abiding in wisdom, the cessation is attained. From the cause of the complete purification of the fifth ground's dhyāna pāramitā, the mind abides in the samādhi that is manifestly directed in the sixth ground, and the knowledge (65 recto and verso) and the cessation of the quiescence of the proliferation of the knowable are attained, and by this mere cause, the bodhisattva who sees the suchness of the profound dependent arising is completely pure because he abides in the Prajñāpāramitā. The cessation was not attained before this, because in the fifth ground, by practicing mainly the five, such as giving, all dharmas are understood to be like images, but here, even like images, there is no discrimination. This ground is called manifestly directed, because in the fifth, by focusing on the truth of the path, one becomes close to the dharmas of the perfect Buddha, such as the ten powers. The second is: Just as a crowd of blind people is easily led by one who has eyes to the place they desire, so here too, with wisdom, one takes the qualities of the blind eye and becomes victorious. Because the collection of qualities depends on the Prajñāpāramitā, so in this ground too, with the wisdom of the Prajñāpāramitā, those who are not held by the Prajñāpāramitā, such as giving, which is like a blind eye, are held here, and then one takes the qualities and goes to the state of the victorious one, because one knows the right path and what is contrary to it. Just as a crowd of blind people is easily led by one who has eyes to the place they desire, so it is. Such wisdom, in the presence of the samādhi of the noble ones, eliminates the perversion of imputation on the Dharma of dependent arising, and there, the mind and mental events arise.

All entrances of arising naturally subside, and wisdom is what comprehends this. This is how it is established. In reality, wisdom as the knowable and the knower is beyond speech and thought regarding whether it is existent, nonexistent, both, or neither. As it is said in the Mother Sutra: Forms are not seen, feelings are also not seen, perceptions are without seeing, and mind is not seen. (65b) Whichever consciousness, mind, and intellect are not seen, the Tathagata has shown that to be the seeing of Dharma. Beings often say they see the sky, but one should examine how the sky can be seen. Likewise, the Tathagata has also shown the seeing of Dharma, but this seeing is difficult to compare. Whoever sees in this way sees all Dharmas. Also, as the teacher Sthiramati said: Because the nature of Dharmas is not established, the wisdom that does not give rise to discrimination in them is known by the Unequaled One. This is how it is said. The Mind-Only school speaks in the opposite way. In the Differentiation of Dharma and Dharmata, it says: The complete knowledge of characteristics is non-attention, complete transcendence, nearness to peace, the meaning of self-nature, and holding to manifest signs, that is, by one's own characteristic abandoning the five aspects. This is how it is said. In the Compendium of Vehicles, it says: The wisdom of Bodhisattvas is the self-nature without discrimination, abandoning the five aspects, without holding to appearances in the true meaning. And, in accordance with this, it appears in the Compendium of Abhidharma and the Determination of Meanings, etc. Such non-discriminating wisdom and mind cannot be established as a valid cognition for realizing the ultimate truth, because if it is non-attention, if it is non-discriminating wisdom, then sleep, intoxication, and fainting, etc., would also become non-discriminating wisdom, (66a) and also, if it completely transcends thought, that would not work, because all minds and mental factors from the second dhyana and above would also become like that. If it is near to peace, that would also not work, because cessation samadhi, etc., would also become like that, and wisdom would also become not a mental factor. If it is the meaning of non-discriminating self-nature, that would also not work, because it would also extend to forms, sounds, etc. That's it.
