Now, the wisdom of those biased adherents will not be mistaken, because they apply their own desires as reasons. In particular, even according to the details of your own system, all noble equipoise will be mistaken, because measuring the existence or non-existence of conventional truth with valid cognition means that that valid cognition does not see its existence or non-existence, etc. Valid cognition has refuted conventional phenomena, and what is there that is generally established by valid cognition, whether it exists or not? Even if one claims to have realized that a phenomenon established by valid cognition is not established by valid cognition, that can only be a delusion. Therefore, the latter reason is accepted. The former reason is not established, because the noble equipoise wisdom abides in the meaning of ultimate truth, not in the meaning of conventional truth, and after abiding in the meaning of conventional truth, the phenomena of conventional truth are not refuted by valid cognition. If you think so, then when the noble wisdom abides in the ultimate, the appearance of the deceptive conventional truth will not be reversed, because it is established by valid cognition. Equipoise wisdom is not refuted by valid cognition at that time. Moreover, when the noble wisdom abides in the ultimate, it is not necessary to rely on conventional phenomena to enter equipoise, because when it abides in it, it does not enter into the basis of conventional truth established by name and concept with such attention, but the conventional (168a) is discarded like a rag, and then the noble wisdom directly grasps the nature of that conventional, the non-affirming ultimate truth, and abides in it. If you think so, then it is impossible for the noble wisdom to comprehend the unerring ultimate truth by eliminating the erroneous imputation of conventional phenomena, because that is what is desired. If you think so, then the noble equipoise wisdom will not be able to reverse all the bonds of elaboration, such as afflictions, because it has not eliminated any erroneous imputation of conventional phenomena. If you think it is not established, then it is established. The valid cognition of reasoning and the valid cognition of noble equipoise wisdom are not valid cognition for establishing or refuting the existence or non-existence of the conventional, but they are valid cognition for establishing or refuting the existence or non-existence of the object to be refuted by the reason.

For this reason. According to your school, when the noble ones see the ultimate truth as it is, they will not see the reality of all things, because they do not first see the conventional reality. Because all the intelligence that sees it is nominal valid cognition, because it does not enter the realm of the ultimate as it is. You yourself admit this characteristic of the school. Not seeing the ultimate reality, the ultimate is the very nature of the conventional dharma that is naturally pacified in its own essence. Therefore, understanding it is the wisdom that realizes things as they are, and the Madhyamaka scriptures say that the ultimate truth has been directly realized (168b). In this way, you do not want to become nihilistic. Although the conventional truth itself is not empty, you believe that the noble ones see the emptiness of reality that exists from the object itself, and thus see the reality of the ultimate truth. Because that kind of emptiness is not the reality of the ultimate. Dharma, the emptiness of the conventional itself being empty is not the ultimate truth. Apart from that, the nature of emptiness does not exist in the basis of emptiness, the knowable. Without it, emptiness, for the knowable, is a nihilistic emptiness that cannot be established as dependent arising, like a rabbit's horn, even if you believe in it, you cannot understand the emptiness of the ultimate truth, because that kind of emptiness is the ultimate truth, the nature of the Dharma, the nature of that conventional truth is not the ultimate truth. Because it is an unrelated other dharma. For example, just as you think, the true appearance of the pot that is the object of negation as a reason, and the true appearance of the pot established by nominal valid cognition, are not the same as the Dharma and the nature of Dharma. If you think that it has not been established as an unrelated other dharma, then it is established. When you grasp the Dharma established by the conventional functioning of reality, and the Dharma established by the reality existing from the object itself, cutting off the extreme of existence, you do not want the emptiness or nature of the former Dharma's own nature being empty. The emptiness of the latter Dharma's own nature being empty is not the emptiness of the former Dharma's own nature being empty, so it is empty (169n).
