It is also not that. If the object of dependence is not established, then it is also not other, because it should not be dependent either. If it is established, then there is no need to depend on the other. So, if even in the mind of a child it cannot be said to be that, it is thought to have become other; if it cannot be said to be other, it is thought to be that. This is not the case, just as a gold vase and a silver vase in conceptual thought cannot be said to be that, so it does not become other; if it cannot be said to be other, it does not become that. In this way, even if a child's mind establishes the two truths as one or different and mistakenly thinks so, even if he thinks so, there is no case where the two truths become one or different. Therefore, those with wisdom will understand that if the two truths are not one, they are not different; if they are not different, they are not one. Because both are phenomena established in dependence. For phenomena established in dependence, it is not established that there are phenomena of one and different that are the meaning of the two truths. Therefore, like the omniscient wisdom, it does not grasp any elaboration, and that nature that is free from all elaborations, is not other, called the ultimate truth, without establishing the ultimate truth, it is established as the ultimate truth, and it is fabricated to say that it has no birth or death. And like the mind of ignorance such as the view of self, it is not other than the conventional phenomena, without establishing the conventional truth, it is established as the conventional truth, and it is fabricated to say that it has birth and death. Considering that these two truths are not different in meaning, the Kagyu Rinpoche says that conceptual thought is the Dharmakaya, samsara and nirvana, and affliction is wisdom. When saying this, it is not to prove that the nature of conceptual thought Dharmakaya, samsara and nirvana, etc., which have the meaning of the two truths, is one, because conceptual thought Dharmakaya, etc. (148a) have negated otherness in meaning, so it also negates that the nature is one, because if the related objects that are merely in meaning do not exist separately, then it is not established that those related phenomena that are in meaning are one in nature. Therefore, the negation of otherness in meaning of conceptual thought Dharmakaya, etc., is what Gampopa said. Coemergent

This arisen awareness-consciousness, tightly grasp it as wisdom. If definite understanding arises, then that itself is seen. This conceptual thought arising from the mind, tightly grasp it as ultimate truth. If experienced, the essence is seen. This appearance and sound of the habit of examination, tightly grasp it as the Dharmakaya. If realization is attained, the truth is seen. Furthermore, this appearance that has not been experienced, now it is known to be the Dharmakaya. Do not seek views elsewhere. This self-mind that has never been separated, now it is known to be the Buddha. Do not seek the result from elsewhere. This uninterrupted conceptual thought, now it is known to be wisdom. Do not seek experience from elsewhere. This ordinary, unscattered consciousness, now it is known to be meditation. Do not seek accomplishment from elsewhere. Furthermore, Je Gompapa Tsultrim Nyingpo said: This wisdom co-arisen with the mind, if tightly grasped, is the original. If loosely released, it is free from elaboration. If simultaneously realized, it is the Dharmakaya. One does not wish to abandon conceptual thought, thinking that non-conceptual thought cannot be accomplished. If there is, offer to the Lama and the Three Jewels. If there is not, release consciousness and sleep. Father Jambudvipa (148b) Drakpa said this. Furthermore, Je Dusum Khyenpa said: Samsara and Nirvana abide as non-dual. Is the mind free from hope and fear? Wind and mind abide as non-dual. Is the meditation on channels and winds relaxed? Appearance and mind abide as non-dual. Is the mind free from grasper and grasped? Furthermore, Deshe Phagmo Drupa said: The waves of self-grasping afflictions, are the wisdom of the Buddhas of the three times. The darkness of conceptual thought and ignorance, is the great luminosity free from elaboration. The blazing of the three poisons of affliction, is the mandala of the victorious wisdom. The ocean of suffering of samsara, is the palace of Nirvana. The waves of conceptual thought, grasper and grasped, are the unchanging Buddha of the three times. And so forth, countless [statements] appeared. Regarding this, some people doubt in this way: Those scriptures that were just quoted, although they deny that conceptual thought, Dharmakaya, etc., arising from the two truths are different, they do not deny that their essence is one. According to the literal meaning, it seems undeniable to say that their essence is one, so they think. It is indeed true. The venerable
