Chandrakirti realized that preventing self-origination in some way is itself a virtue. Thus, it is also unreasonable to explain the difference of ultimate truth by relying on the views of other schools. The third case is: if worldly people, due to their own ignorance, want to generate self-origination in their minds, and therefore do not prevent it, so the word "ultimate" is added, then, for any worldly person who says that the difference will be accompanied by the result depending on this, they will not think that it is born from self-nature. Because worldly people do not distinguish between self-origination and other-origination, they only recognize that the result comes from the cause. Therefore, the teacher (referring to Nagarjuna) did not distinguish from which of the two truths it arises, etc. When he entered the name of conventional truth, he established it without examining the conventional truth. Therefore, in any case, adding the word "ultimate" is meaningless. It is also unreasonable to use the word "ultimate" as a difference of the subject (probandum). Furthermore, if you want to deny self-origination even in the conventional, and establish "in the ultimate, the internal sources of origination are the subject" as the difference of the subject (probandum), then, for the skillful one himself, there will be the fault of the unestablished subject, or the fault of the unestablished reason. Because the skillful one himself does not admit the existence of eye and other sources of origination in the ultimate. In order to avoid this fault, if you say that because there are eye and other things in the conventional, there is no fault of the unestablished subject, then, if the word "ultimate" is not understood as the difference of the subject, then, when asked "what is the difference of the word 'ultimate'?", if you answer that if eye and other conventional dharmas are the subject, and in order to prevent them from arising in the ultimate, so the word "ultimate" is said to be the difference of preventing arising, then, answer that if this is the case, then it should not be stated as before, but it should be said that eye and other conventional dharmas do not exist in the ultimate, it is reasonable to say so. However, you, the skillful one, did not say so, so you did not eliminate the fault of the previous statement. All

If one speaks of false eyes, etc., as the subject, then the Samkhyas, etc., and the realists, the opponents, assert that the eyes, etc., are substances, that they are truly existent, and because they do not accept that they are nominally conventionally existent, the Samkhyas, etc., become the fault of the unestablished subject in the presence of others, so this is unreasonable. Therefore, if one makes the eyes, etc., the subject of ultimate truth, it is not established for oneself. If one makes the eyes, etc., the subject of conventional truth, it is not established for others, so it is said that one does not escape the fault of the subject. Neither the distinction between ultimate truth and conventional truth is taken as the subject. If one wants to grasp only the generality that has abandoned the distinction, just as in saying "sound is impermanent," one grasps only the generality of sound, which is both the impermanent dharma and the subject sound, but not the distinction. If one grasps the distinction, then all the terms of inference, reason, and what is to be inferred, the thesis to be established, will disappear. After briefly explaining this, it is explained in detail as follows: If one takes the sound produced from the four great elements as the subject, then it is not established for the opponent Vaisheshika. However, if one takes the sound of the quality of space as the subject, then it is not established for oneself, the Buddhist. Similarly, the Sravaka Vaibhashikas (the commentary on the Clear Words of the Sage says that the Vaisheshikas mentioned here are not the non-Buddhist Vaisheshikas. The Sravakas also agree with the Vaisheshikas on partless particles, etc., so they are called Vaibhashikas, and abbreviated as Sravaka Vaisheshikas). (When the Samkhyas assert that sound is impermanent, if they take the produced sound as the subject, then it is not established for the opponent Samkhyas. However, if they take the sound that manifests what was previously existent as the subject, then it is not established for oneself, the Vaibhashikas. The statement about the subject can be similarly applied to the dharma. If one makes destruction with a cause the dharma to be established, then it is not established for oneself, the Buddhist. If one makes destruction without a cause the dharma to be established, then it is not established for the opponent Vaisheshika (118b). Therefore, how
