It is for the sake of removing, as it is said: If these things are analyzed, then the self-nature of that cannot be found elsewhere compared to the thing itself, therefore one should not analyze the worldly expressions. As it is said, you are like thieves who kill a rich man and then hide the corpse without a trace. Therefore, when this school says that this is the reason for searching for that, let alone the fact that the characteristics, dharmas, etc. of that and the way of searching for it are established by conventional valid cognition, at that time, for all the worldly conventional dharmas, one should, in relation to the debater, refute them in terms of conventional expressions by analyzing the reason for that, but in the ultimate sense, no affirmation or negation is made. Therefore, at that time, one should abide in being free from all the elaborations of affirmation and negation. As the teacher Chandrakirti said in the "Entering the Middle Way": Both affirmation and negation are negation alone, in reality there is no affirmation or negation, if one becomes accustomed to this, one will attain perfection. Therefore, this teacher, in the world, for the direct perception and inference that worldly people themselves call, just follows and narrates in a way that does not investigate and feels pleasant, and uses it as the basis for affirming and negating the search for that (98a). However, when searching for that, if the characteristics, dharmas, etc. of worldly convention are established in the common appearance of the debater for the sake of the debater by means of conventional valid cognition, then one should not establish the three aspects of the characteristics, dharmas, and meanings that are established in this way, this dharma is not found in other Madhyamikas, it is an unparalleled dharma that is established as a Consequentialist. If it is said that direct perception and so on are contradictory there, then it is said: No, I have not prevented what is not investigated and feels pleasant, it is only for the sake of establishing conventional expressions, it is not the subject and reason. As it is said. Therefore, the great Consequentialist master Khu Mdo-sde of the snowy land of Tibet said in the "Logical Iron Hook": Although there is no valid cognition, by commitment and contradiction, it eliminates the wrong conceptions of oneself and others. Only for the falsehood of wrong conceptions, the expression is called the determination of that. And so on, he said a lot, and the meaning he held was limited to this, and he made many refutations of the formulations of valid cognition of consequence and refutation of Dharmakirti, Dignāga, and Nāma, which is also because, when this Madhyamika speaks, he considers the affirmation and negation with elaboration, self-nature, and truth to be the reality of the two truths.

Even if one wants to refute, when seeking the suchness of the Middle Way, it would be too extreme if a Madhyamika were to publicize the method of refutation and establishment of that school to others, and say that one should not completely present one's own faults and words of establishment in that way. Especially in the Prasannapadā, if someone raises a doubt, from which of the existent or nonexistent is the unborn realized? The answer is: How should it be said? If we were to have something called "certainty," (98b) it would either arise from valid cognition or from what is not valid cognition, but it is not the case. Why? Because if there is uncertainty here, then it depends on it, and becomes its antidote. When we do not have uncertainty, how could there be certainty that contradicts it? Because it does not depend on other related things, just like the horns of a donkey being long or short. When there is no certainty, for the sake of accomplishing what, are valid cognitions fully realized? It is said. So, if the valid cognition that establishes that is not established in one's own system, how can one perceive the self as unborn? To this doubt, it is said: This word of certainty exists for the world through the door of reason established in oneself, but not for the noble ones. Do the noble ones not have reason? Who said there is or is not? The noble ones do not speak of the ultimate truth, therefore, how could those who do not possess reason and non-reason have elaboration? It is said. So, when the noble ones are seeking that suchness, if they do not establish the profound suchness with the reasoning of conventional phenomena established by name and measure, then by what method do they realize it? Although the noble ones do not speak of the reason for establishing that suchness through the door of worldly convention established by measure, they accept the worldly convention as it is spoken by worldly people, and thus realize that suchness, as it is said: If the noble ones do not speak of reason, (99a) then how do worldly people realize the ultimate truth? The noble ones do not speak of the reason of worldly terms.

ung gi. However, in order for others to understand the reason that is widely known in the world, (the Buddha) agreed and personally made the world understand. Etc., in the clear words, the conventional real phenomena, no matter what kind of valid cognition, such as reason and terminology, have not been established as such in one's own system, but the realists have widely established them in their own system, and widely declare this unreasonableness. Didn't the great Tsongkhapa master and disciples and their followers understand this? Or, is the commentary on this not the teaching of glorious Chandrakirti? Just as the Lord does not listen to the words of a servant, what is the point of throwing the meaning of the commentary to dogs and pigs? It seems necessary to think about it. In particular, the Svatantrika says that dharmas, etc., are established by the nature of the dharma itself, or from the way the object resides, and that what is established in this way is to accept the meaning obtained by the valid cognition that does not misunderstand. If this is the case, then the great scholar Sthiramati, who first established the great tradition of Svatantrika, would not say so even in a dream. To say that he said so, but to make a huge unfounded slander, what is the need for it? Isn't it terrible to slander the noble ones? Therefore, if the worldly conventional real phenomena exist as their own characteristics, then in the Blaze of Reasoning it says: Conventional establishment (99b) Only things exist, as the Sugata said: The three realms are only established, They do not exist as the nature of things. For the established, evil discriminators think of them as real things. How is this to be explained? If things are established by their own characteristics, then does the basis need to be established by the nature of the characteristic? If not, then things will not be established as their own characteristics from the nature of the object. If it is necessary, then there, as it is said: Birth, etc., are conditioned by themselves, The characteristic is not the basis itself. Because it is conditioned, because it is knowable, So it is like something else. What is said is that birth, etc., become the nature of conditioned things, so it should not be the nature of the basis of aggregates, etc., because it is conditioned, and because it is knowable, birth, etc.
