It is established that conventional truth does not exist, and ultimate truth exists separately in another place. Furthermore, the two truths are one, because it is a "one" that negates distinct entities, because conventional truth does not exist as distinct in essence from ultimate truth. Therefore, since there is no conventional truth apart from ultimate truth, the two truths are one, and not established as its companion, two. Nor is it said that the two truths are completely nonexistent. Thus it is said. In this way, the two truths, should be that their essence is not one, because it is a distinctness that negates the essence as one. Also, it should be that their essence is not distinct, because it is a "one" that negates the essence as distinct. Like this, not only is it self-contradictory, but also, in terms of convention, when establishing conventions with the reason that conventional truth is completely nonexistent, it becomes answering that the two truths are neither one nor different. Therefore, the self-statement that the two truths are not completely nonexistent also becomes meaningless. In this way, in terms of convention, it is not reasonable to ask and answer whether the two truths are one or different, because when establishing the conventional aspect of conventional truth (333b), if it is completely nonexistent, then in terms of convention, doubts about whether it is one or different from ultimate truth would not arise for those with conceptual minds, just as one does not examine whether a rabbit's horn and ultimate truth are one or different. Therefore, with the establishment that the two truths are neither one nor different, this undoubtedly imposes a great false imputation of wrong views on the two truths, because it is said that ultimate truth is eternally established and conventional truth is not seen at any time. If according to our statement, without examination, one does not examine whether the two truths are one or different, and when engaging in acceptance and rejection in worldly and transworldly matters, the phenomenon, the conventional truth that has not been abandoned by the nature of ultimate truth, is what one engages in as acceptance and rejection. When examining, for the two, negating both one and different, and not regarding the two as either one or different, but making it the view and meditation. Unlike you, negating one and looking at the extreme of the other, etc., how could one be tormented by the feeling of joy with the dregs of view and meditation? Furthermore, in this land of snow mountains, relying on the oral instructions of the venerable Manjushri, the supreme tradition of Chandrakirti is brilliantly propagated.

The incomparable Je Tsongkhapa said: To realize that the basis of emptiness, the person and phenomena, are devoid of the object to be emptied, self and true existence, one must first recognize the contradictory object of the sign of its opposite. Although the contradictory object of the sign does not exist in the knowable, the emptiness that negates it exists in the knowable, so the ultimate truth exists in the conventional truth. The ultimate truth (334a) does not exist as the ultimate truth, so one must distinguish between where it exists and where it is. When the basis of emptiness, the person and the aggregates, etc., are measured by name and measure as being truly effective, then its nature, the emptiness of self and true existence, and selflessness, are also understood by the reasoning consciousness to be implicitly established as a basis. That's what they say. That view, no matter how much it is expressed with clever words, is merely indulging in regarding the characteristics and nature of the two truths of the object of attachment as completely different and separate, thereby disrupting all the essence of speculation. This is completely reversing the statement that conforms to the law of dependent origination of the conventional truth of the knowable world. If so, is the contradictory object of the sign, true existence, which does not exist in the knowable, a contradictory object of the sign in the knowable or not? If it is like the first case, then the knowable is the subject, then the contradictory object of the sign, true existence, exists in the knowable. Because the contradictory object of the sign that does not exist in the knowable is prevented by the sign in the knowable. This is pervasive. If true existence is prevented in the knowable, then when any of the true existences that exist or do not exist in the knowable is prevented, there is no choice but to establish the existing true existence. Because you all say that double negation is the lifeblood of reason in all Madhyamaka rational occasions. And, in the realm of consciousness, the contradictory object of the sign enters the knowable, and it is prevented by the wisdom of consciousness, and there is no other way in the world to make it exist in the knowable (334b). Furthermore, if you think that the true existence that does not exist in the knowable exists in the knowable, and hold on to the extreme of permanence, then preventing the true existence that does not exist in the knowable, will it not become the true existence that exists in the knowable? Then, just as that kind of true existence cannot exist in the knowable by holding on to the extreme of permanence, the non-existence related to it also holds on to the extreme of permanence.
