Moreover, they do not assert that both truths have inherent existence, because all who assert this are mistaken, and because knowable things are not just one truth. To say this is too extreme, because the Teacher, without analyzing the Madhyamaka scriptures, has stated that both truths exist, and the Madhyamikas also repeat this. Although the Teacher did not analyze according to his own system, when speaking of worldly conventional truth as being in accordance with dependent origination, according to the valid analysis of others, it is not appropriate for the nature of conventional falsehood to have inherent truth, and it is appropriate for the nature of ultimate truth to have inherent (326a) truth. In the nature of these two, from the two natures of truth and falsehood, in relation to truth, the nature of falsehood is not inherently true, as stated in terms of what is accepted by others. At that time, the Madhyamikas also say this. However, if one were to cultivate and analyze this very nature, then neither the existence nor non-existence of inherent existence in the two truths is established, so it is impossible to transfer it to another side with one's own system of reasoning, or to draw it back to one's own system, because it is impossible to do so, because no one can transform freedom from elaboration into elaboration. Therefore, in the Madhyamika's own system, even when speaking of the nature of the two truths, one should not speak of it, and this burden of high and excellent views of verbal boasting is in accordance with the behavior of some, some are lax, some are dissolute, and some are pretentious, and it seems to be flourishing. Nowadays, in this land of snow, all Sakyas, Kagyus, Bons, Nyingmas, Chöds, Shijes, and even worldly householders, without exception, revere this and take it as the crown jewel, and this is undisputed. In this way, not only does the teacher nominally accept the nature of emptiness without analysis, but he can also lead those to be trained to accept it, so it must be established that both are established, because the heat of fire, etc., cannot be inherent, because they are dependent origination, and are artificial and relative. The heat of fire, etc., cannot be inherent, because they are dependent origination (326b), and are artificial and relative. The heat of fire is

It is neither dependent nor independent, because it exists in the very nature of being modified, such as heat. Because in that heat, it is also impossible to ascertain the existence of things that hold the unmodifiable nature of emptiness as supreme. Even so, in the Abhisamayalankara and others, it is also taught that "in the conventional, the nature of fire is the aspect of heat" in accordance with the conventional truth of children. Therefore, it is not said that the conventional nature of fire is dependent arising, so it cannot be self-existent; the ultimate nature is not dependent arising, so it is established as self-existent. Rather, from dependent arising, the two truths are established, the nature of the conventional truth is established in relation to false dependent arising, and the nature of the ultimate truth is established as true dependent arising also by the reason of dependent arising. Therefore, saying that the eye and so on are empty of the eye, it is said that emptiness is completely manifest, not like the Hearers' school saying that it is empty because it is separated from the inner agent, nor like the Mind-Only school saying that it is empty by the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender, this emptiness where one does not establish the other is not emptiness. So, how do these Dharma-holders explain the principle of emptiness? Those who assert the existence of a person consider that the basis of emptiness is the person and the aggregates and other dharmas, and that it is empty of the eternally single, independent self and so on, which are conceived by outsiders, and of karma and its results, and of the extremes of permanence and annihilation, such as the absence of former and later lives. (327a) The Vaibhashikas, who do not accept the person, consider that the basis of emptiness is the three times and the unconditioned dharmas included in the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and that it is empty of the extremes of permanence and annihilation, such as the person and so on, which are imputed by outsiders and those who assert the existence of a person. They say that these five objects of knowledge, which are empty, exist by their own nature. Furthermore, the Sutrantikas consider that the basis of emptiness is the present aggregates, elements, and sense bases, the form, mind, and mental factors, and that it is empty of the self and the extremes of permanence and annihilation, which are imputed by outsiders and those who assert the existence of a person, and of the past and future substantially existent things imputed by the Vaibhashikas, and of the non-associated formations, substantially existent things, and unconditioned things. They consider that the atoms that are empty.
