If so, then the mind-only proponents who speak of falsehood must acknowledge the Madhyamaka proponents who speak of self-emptiness, and the Madhyamaka proponents who speak of no-self-nature say that the ultimate truth, which is divided by the two truths, the nature of reality (324b) is established as true by its own nature. Such a speaker of no-self-nature has never appeared before in the holy land and the land of snows. So what is this speaker of no-self-nature who speaks of self-nature and nature? Also, when you refute the self, if you establish the nature of conventional truth as unreal, then the nature of ultimate truth is established as real, then have you not remembered that the Consequentialists refute true establishment and not establishing non-existence is a characteristic? Therefore, saying that the Consequentialists' own system must distinguish many situations of wanting or not wanting true establishment is not from the perspective of scholars to distinguish the subtle phenomena of the two truths in terminology. Because in the profound scriptures of Madhyamaka, sometimes it is said that both truths have no self-nature, and sometimes it is said that the ultimate truth has self-nature, it seems that there is a contradiction, and they see that it falls into one basis, and they change its basis to another place, so it is the darkness of fools who hope to eliminate this contradiction. In the middle, when refuting the self, if the ultimate truth has self-nature, then it will not become no-self-nature when refuting all views. In the middle, when refuting the self, if there is no self-nature, then seeing it as self-nature is a wrong view. Even if the self-nature of the ultimate truth is established there, it cannot be established by valid cognition. So how can the ultimate truth be established in the middle when refuting the self? Think about it carefully. Therefore, the great teacher Chandrakirti said this: The self-nature of conventional truth, such as persons and dharmas, from beginningless coemergent (325a) ignorance, relying on the aggregates to become a person, is the self-nature that is the basis of karmic results, and the self-nature that relies on elements such as earth to generate self-grasping consciousness such as form, is the self-nature and nature of persons and dharmas, and the clinging to the inverted view that is believed to exist there is what the correct reasoning of the wisdom of hearing and thinking should refute, and such grasping of reality is meditation.

Since the object to be refuted on the path of manifest yoga is the mistaken view that regards conventional truth, which lacks inherent existence, as having self-nature or being true, this alone is the object to be refuted. This has been extensively explained in the root text and commentary. Seeing this clearly, it is like seeing thieves hiding in the distant forest, yet searching for lost items in the nearby meadow. Who would engage in such fruitless labor? It is like applying effort to such painful debates that are useless for seeking liberation. Furthermore, Shar Tsongkhapa says that if the concept of truly established is qualified by the distinctions of being uncreated, independent, and immutable, then the view of truth becomes narrow. Because Mind-Only and others realize that phenomena arise from causes and conditions, Madhyamikas do not need to establish the absence of truth for them, which is a fault. Alas! Mind-Only and others assert that causal phenomena produce resultant phenomena, but even in such production, both cause and result are uncreated, independent, and immutable in their nature as cause and result, and they are regarded as true (325b). If the cause itself is not truly established, it will not correctly produce the result. When they say this, it seems that you have not turned your mind to the way in which Madhyamikas again establish all causal phenomena as devoid of truth. In particular, since the concept with these distinctions appears to all sentient beings in the three realms, and the suffering of samsara is seen to operate only within this range of magnitude, why should one worry about the truth-grasping with this concept becoming narrow? Some who are widely revered as great by the Shangpa Kagyu of Tibet say that the meaning of the texts such as "Self-nature is uncreated" in the Madhyamaka treatises is that if both truths exist, there must be such a self-nature. However, conventional truth does not have such a self-nature, and ultimate truth also does not have such a self-nature. If it did, it would become an uncreated, independent, and permanent entity, but that is also impossible. Therefore, the stainless reasoning of the Madhyamaka svatantrika refutes the self-nature of the two truths, and not only examines its own system, but also does not examine
