Outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, beyond extremes emptiness, beginningless and endless emptiness, non-abandoning emptiness, self-nature emptiness, all phenomena emptiness, self-characteristic emptiness, unobservable emptiness, emptiness of the nature of non-things. Thus, having extensively explained the sixteen emptinesses, Subhuti, furthermore, things are empty by things, non-things are empty by non-things, self-nature is empty by self-nature, other things (319a) are empty by other things. Thus, having summarized, again explains the four emptinesses. Those twenty emptinesses are considered the path of the Great Vehicle, because they extensively show the selflessness of phenomena as an antidote to the obscurations of knowledge. If divided extensively, there are sixteen; if summarized, there are four; if summarized very much, they are included in the two selflessnesses. Such distinctions are also in the conventional truth of the world. If examined, none of those emptinesses are not emptiness at all. By showing the distinctions of emptiness in this way, it is merely designated like forms, etc., according to the minds of the beings to be tamed. The scripture says: If there is a little that is not empty, then there will be a little emptiness. If there is not a little that is not empty, how can there be emptiness? And: One should not say it is empty, one should not say it is not empty, one should not say it is two or not two, it should be said for the sake of designation. Secondly, there are two: explaining sixteen with elaboration, and explaining four in brief. The first is: inner, outer, inner-outer, emptiness, great, ultimate, conditioned, unconditioned, beyond extremes, beginningless and endless, non-abandoning, self-nature, all phenomena, self-characteristic, unobservable, the emptiness of the nature of non-things is explained extensively, and the first of the sixteen is: because of that

Just like me. Therefore, the eye is empty by the eye. Likewise, ear, nose, and tongue, Body and mind should be stated. Because it is not permanent, And also not destructible. Of the six, eye and so on, What is the non-self-nature? That is considered inner emptiness. From the Sutra: (319b) What becomes inner emptiness, what are the inner dharmas? The inner dharmas are eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Therefore, because it is not permanent and not destructible, the eye is empty by the eye. Why is that? Because that is its nature. For what reason is the nature of the eye emptiness? The eye is empty by its own nature. Likewise, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind should also be stated as emptiness. Thus, the nature of the six sense sources, eye and so on, what is the non-self-nature of originally empty nature? That is the dharma. In the unanalyzed worldly convention, when establishing in relation to the two truths, it should be considered as such. The Prasangika Madhyamikas who speak of dependent origination as it is, without analyzing, follow the non-inverted fame of the two truths, existence and non-existence of self-nature, and establish it. Therefore, they see the non-self-nature of the self-nature emptiness of the six, eye and so on, and establish it as self-nature. If following that, then in convention, if a thing or just a dharma has self-nature, then there must be something that is not permanent and does not regress. That self-nature, that is the dharma, the emptiness of the self-nature of the eye, in the part of the ultimate truth, is feasible in convention. That is the dharma, the eye is born from causes and conditions, and depending on others, in the part of the conventional truth of the other-changing nature of the eye being seen by the eye, that is not feasible even in convention. (320n) Permanent is Akutastha (藏文:ཨ་ཀཱུ་ཊ་སྠ་,梵文天城体:अकूटस्थ,梵文罗马拟音:akūṭastha,汉语字面意思:Non-accumulated dwelling). Kuta (藏文:ཀཱུ་ཊ་,梵文天城体:कूट,梵文罗马拟音:kūṭa,汉语字面意思:Accumulation) is the collection of causes and conditions. Stha (藏文:སྠ་,梵文天城体:स्थ,梵文罗马拟音:stha,汉语字面意思:Dwelling) is dwelling. A (藏文:ཨ་,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:Non) means prevention. Therefore, the self-nature emptiness of the eye is not permanent, that is, it does not dwell in the collection, because it is not made by causes and conditions, and does not depend on others. The self-nature of the inner eye and so on
