Using the ladder of truth, without practicing in countless seven kalpas, one cannot cross over to the other shore, and with complete power and manifest knowledge, one cannot merely be capable of amazing things. The Blessed One also said: Without the conventional dharmas, one cannot realize the ultimate truth. Therefore, all things should be well distinguished by wisdom as the conventional truth. Conventional means distinguishing all things such as form, and it is the undeluded worldly expression. It itself is the truth, because it is the measure that transcends all establishments. Among them, first, form has two kinds and twenty kinds, and so on. Similarly, letters, treatises, crafts, methods of speaking, the cause of wealth transmission, medicine, divination, and mantras, etc., whatever is known in the world, should be well distinguished. Among them (85a), The self-characteristics of dharmas are: being able to become form, feeling, holding signs, manifestly creating, making distinctions, and so on. The general characteristics are: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness, and so on. Again, the self-characteristics are: blue, yellow, long, short, and so on, as well as form, sound, and so on. As it is said, in the conventional, this person accepts the measure of the conventional object that is delightful without detailed investigation and relying on mere appearance. In the commentary, it says: Without investigation, the relationship between cause and effect is merely delightful. Therefore, he thinks that after acknowledging the dependent arising and measure of conventional illusion-like things as the source of power, one can eliminate the poison of clinging to external and internal things. Starting from this Svātantrika way of speaking, in the holy land, Svātantrikas are called Madhyamikas who argue with illusion-like reasoning. Since the great translator Stangpa likes the Svātantrika view, and since Svātantrikas do not prove that truth can function with illusion-like reasoning, the Madhyamika who argues with illusion-like reasoning is not a Svātantrika. Because it is not a Prāsaṅgika, the confusion is amazing.

To say that one is a Madhyamika of the generation stage is also to transform words that touch upon one's own faults into other statements, according to the wise Taktsang Lotsāwa. Especially when explaining the supreme tenets of Nāgārjuna, Sangye Khyang and Lekdenjé, because of mere consequentialism and self-sufficient proof (85b), are known and established as the two, consequentialism and self-sufficiency, among the learned. Those very ones, respectively, are non-abiding and the proof of illusion, as many valid authorities of India have stated, so it is not reasonable to say that such a distinction is a wonderful creation of ignorance. Thus, to those who speak of self-sufficiency, it is not reasonable for consequentialists to say that mundane phenomena are phenomena entered by the power of things, and that although their valid cognition does not exist ultimately, in the mundane, there is a phenomenon entered by the power of things like an illusion. For even in the mundane, if it is entered by the power of mundane things and established by valid cognition, then it must be non-deceptive. And if it is non-deceptive and truly exists, then all mundane things will become not false but compounded. Therefore, to accept a phenomenon entered by the power of things like an illusion and its establishment by valid cognition is also self-contradictory. For if an illusory horse and so on are established by valid cognition entered by the power of things, then the illusory horse is not an illusion, but will become a self-sufficient horse of things. Therefore, it is clear that even in those who cling to all phenomena as true like illusions by valid cognition, there remains a slight residue of clinging to elaboration and characteristics. The excellent scholar Dpawo said in the instructions for meditating on the ultimate bodhicitta: Therefore, do not be delighted in experience without investigation, the mind is like an illusion, and enlightenment is also like an illusion. Being deceived by merely contemplating it as an illusion. This also does not see Mañjuśrī who has abandoned words and is free from elaboration. Illusion is not merely illusion, for if it were, it would not be established. If it is established, then the tenets of others (86a) will also become illusory phenomena. Therefore, the nature of illusion cannot be said to be like this illusion. Because of this. So, is it that one will not realize the meaning of suchness by relying on the tenets of the self-sufficient? No, it is not so. For it is possible to realize the meaning of emptiness, which is the object to be proven, in phenomena such as sprouts, through the means of being separate from one and many.
