By falsely accusing, one loses the nature of both truths when entering the ultimate meaning. Because, upon examination, one falsely clings to the conventional reality of dependent arising as if it were established when it is not. And by presuming it to be established, one obstructs the ultimate truth, which is free from arising and ceasing, thus also becoming a slander of the ultimate truth. Therefore, some Tibetans say that the Madhyamikas establish the arising and ceasing of dependent arising with their own system's reasoning as a unique characteristic, saying that because the arising and ceasing like illusions without inherent existence are well established, they are praised for the sake of eliminating the extreme of nihilism. This does not even touch the edge of Madhyamaka. The so-called arising and ceasing like illusions without inherent existence, which appears in the teachings of the teachers who speak of non-extremism, is a teaching that establishes the dependent arising as free from arising and ceasing, like the arising and ceasing of illusions, in the view of examination and the noble ones. There, a teaching that establishes the real existence of arising and ceasing is impossible to even dream of. Therefore, those who speak in this way are truly pitiful! Therefore, the way of establishing merely by this without examination contradicts the clinging to reality that believes in the arising of the four extremes. Therefore, the way the Madhyamikas establish the two truths is very different from the way the realists establish the two truths, because they declare that all objects of knowledge, such as Buddhas and sentient beings, do not contradict what is commonly known in the world, and that is all. In the song of my great father Repa, he said: The distinctions of the two truths that are dependent and imputed, I only speak of them in terms of worldly conventions. Now, when the world is free from elaboration, depending on the truth and falsity of phenomena, etc., all the characteristics of arising and ceasing, all affirmations and negations of existence and non-existence, in that state of aimless peace, how can the view and meditation of one's own system exist? When one's own system disappears, because there is no need to refute other systems, do not even give the name Madhyamaka. Remembering the kindness that cannot be repaid by such instructions, I prostrate with all things. Therefore, merely by this dependent arising, all views of causelessness are eliminated.

Because non-existence is independent of anything, while dependent origination implies dependence. Arising from permanent, singular, dissimilar, or simultaneous causes such as Īśvara contradicts dependent origination. This is because arising from a single cause eliminates the need to rely on other conditions. Similarly, a permanent cause, being devoid of action, does not require dependence. Arising from dissimilar causes also negates reliance on one's own causal conditions, and arising from simultaneous causes eliminates the need for aggregation. The arising from self, other, or both also contradicts dependent origination, as the self does not depend on itself, and self-action is contradictory. If the self is not established, neither the object nor the basis of dependence is possible; if established, dependence is unnecessary. For the other, if unestablished, neither the object nor the basis of dependence is possible, and it is unreasonable for the other. If established, dependence is unnecessary, and dependence would be excessive. Arising from both is touched by both faults, thus contradicting dependence. Therefore, in the Śālistamba Sūtra, it is said: 'That which arises from the seed cause is not made by itself, not made by another, not made by both, not made by Īśvara, not transformed by time, not born from atoms, not born from nature, not born from essence, not born from substance, not born from no cause,' and so on. Secondly, the antidote to all wrong views, and its two reasons. The first is: Because things arise dependently, these conceptions cannot be examined. Therefore, this reasoning of dependent origination cuts through all nets of wrong views. Thus, merely explaining dependent origination as 'this being, that arises' not only dispels conceptions such as arising from no cause, but also this reasoning of dependent origination as 'this being, that arises' cuts through all nets of extremist views. Because things arise dependently on this, without examination, the appearance and experience of arising, ceasing, cause, and effect are established as known. Apart from that, dualistic conceptions such as permanence, annihilation, existence, and non-existence cannot be examined, not only in ultimate truth but even in conventional truth. Therefore, even if things are contradictory,
