If that way of using sound is prohibited, it will be impossible to distinguish when debating with other opponents, because we have the intention to produce (self-origination). If the opponent himself verbally acknowledges and states the subject-property of 'production is meaningless,' then at that time it is undoubtedly the rule to dispel others' wrong views. Therefore, if someone proclaims loudly in this snowy land that in order to prevent others' wrong views, the Madhyamaka-Svatantrika will never verbally acknowledge and state the three aspects of others' fame during debate, then, when the opponent is a Prasangika and a realist, the Prasangika's respondent will become uncontrollable speech, exceeding the rule of the Prasangika himself verbally stating, and can only be accomplished by a single speech without human effort. Therefore, in this debate situation, there are two situations: one is to state according to the opponent's own statement; the other is to state according to one's own tenet, that is, to express the content adhered to with one's own tenet. Among them, the first situation is not desired. In the first case, although verbally stating one's own tenet does not express the Svatantrika's commitment, nor does it establish the Svatantrika's own tenet, it is insisted that there is no obstacle to the Madhyamaka-Prasangika being able to verbally acknowledge the three aspects. This statement is very inappropriate for the great masters of the snowy land. Those small-minded people mistakenly believe that this is the supreme good saying, which is a major deviation from the essential points of the Dharma. Furthermore, when the Prasangika engages in refutation and establishment, he can only state the reasons stated by others, and cannot state his own reasoning. This statement is not the only view of the Prasangika. Because, when the reasons stated by others are not sufficient and cannot refute the opponent, the Prasangika must rely on the reasoning that arises in his own mind, and use reasonable and persuasive reasons to refute the irrationality of others. If it is not like this, but hopes to harm others with bad reasons, and also recognizes and states this reason himself, then he himself will be stained by faults.

Alas! This is because it is approved by the teacher Chandrakirti. In the commentary on the ninth chapter of the Four Hundred, it says: Logicians, if the opponent admits that something is not produced for the sake of a result, then it is produced, because it is for the sake of a result. Just like something produced for the sake of a result. Thus it is said. Here, for the moment, those that are completely imputed by the opponent, the subtle particles of earth, water, fire, and wind, which are not in accordance with arising and (80b) ceasing, are not existent because they are without cause, like flowers in the sky. These non-existents, like flowers in the sky, are not existent because they are without cause. It is also unreasonable to establish impermanence by falsely clinging to these non-existents as causes and then establishing arising. Because the meaning of the result is not established in oneself, and if one accepts what is established in others as a reason, it would be too extreme. Since one has accepted an unreasonable dharma, one should refute the opponent, therefore, it is also unreasonable to accept permanence as the meaning of the result. It is also unreasonable to infer the commitments of others and to state contradictions with this. Because that can only be stated when it is established for both. Thus it is said. Its meaning is that the logicians are commentators on the Four Hundred. If the Vaisheshikas admit that the subtle particles of the four elements are not produced, then those are produced, because they are causes. Thus, it is unreasonable to establish impermanence by establishing arising. Because the subtle particles of the four elements established by others are unreasonable as things, therefore, the subject is not established here. And, on top of the subject, the cause that has the meaning of a result is not established in oneself, so it cannot become a reason. Even if it is not established in oneself, if it is established in others, it is too extreme to accept it as a reason. If one temporarily thinks that what is established in others, and one admits it, can refute the opponent's system, then it is also very unreasonable to admit what is unreasonable and then want to use it to refute the mistakes of others (81a). Furthermore, stating harm to the opponent also requires something that is recognized and established by both parties. Because one's own uncertain words cannot generate pure valid cognition in the minds of others.
