Because there is no such thing. In particular, the Consequentialists hold that the ālaya-vijñāna and self-awareness, as their own objects, as well as the partless aspects that are unrelated to awareness and the particles that are the basis of composition, cannot withstand scrutiny in terms of the two truths, and not only should they not be refuted, but also as the basis of worldly conventions, these are not established as commonly accepted in the world. Therefore, if these are not examined, they do not exist even in the conventions of worldly people. Thus, they are vehemently refuted. Therefore, if self-awareness and the ālaya-vijñāna are not refuted in conventions but are established, and if their establishment in ultimate truth is refuted, then it would be inappropriate to specifically single out the ālaya-vijñāna and self-awareness and make only this kind of refutation, because it would be necessary to do so for all phenomena that are the basis of conventions, such as pillars and pots. If you think that doing so to the ālaya-vijñāna and self-awareness does not necessarily extend to doing so to phenomena such as pillars and pots, it is not reasonable, because the Consequentialists hold that worldly people do not posit the ālaya-vijñāna and self-awareness as the basis of conventions, so they do not posit them even when they are not examined in conventions. Only cause and effect and experience and memory can serve as the basis of conventions, so these conventions, without being examined, can be established in the world, as is clearly stated. Any person who imputes something without examining it with the innate wisdom of the world does not refute it when it is not examined, as it is said. Moreover, this applies not only to persons but to all phenomena. If it were not so, the Madhyamikas would assert that the substance of a person exists in conventions (230a), and they would also assert that it does not exist in ultimate truth. Then, what is more attached to things than the Madhyamika who establishes it in this way? Because the thing that existed at the time of convention is later established as emptiness and non-existence at the time of ultimate truth, it follows that emptiness is the destroyer of things. Furthermore, in one respect, the nature of a thing exists, and in another respect, the nature of a thing does not exist, so while admitting things, they slander things, becoming the worst kind of thing-ists among the contradictory thing-ists. Therefore, who entrusted you with the task of holding such a bad system and laboring to write commentaries on the Madhyamika-Consequentialist texts, which are difficult to understand? In particular, Master Chandrakirti says that he strives to establish self-awareness in conventions.

It is said that someone claimed that the view of this treatise being explained does not conform to reality. Because here, starting from the perspective of emptiness, whatever is negated is not diligently proven in either of the two truths, that's why it is said. Your statement is even worse than a dog, completely reversed. Here, at that time, with what kind of reasoning, is it unreasonable for arising from self and other? That reasoning is also unreasonable in conventional truth. What kind of arising would yours be? Like this, in conventional truth, arising and non-arising have already become both self and other. This is as well-known as the wind to the wise. Don't you know that? Or, knowingly violating, using afflictions to disturb the Dharma principles of glorious Chandrakirti (Acharya Chandrakirti), we can do nothing about it. Therefore, it cannot be assumed that the subsequent object of memory arises from the destruction of the previous object of experience. Because, whether the previous seed and cause, etc., are destroyed or not, the subsequent sprout, etc., cannot truly arise, so this school strongly opposes it. As the sutra says, "Therefore, when the sprout arises, the seed does not perish," etc. Also, in the Madhyamaka treatises of Nagarjuna and his son, when analyzing the cause and effect of dependent origination, it is not assumed that whether the previous object of experience is destroyed or not will lead to the subsequent cause and effect objects arising. If it is assumed like that, the causal relationship will become eternalism and nihilism. There will be faults such as "annihilation and actions are wasted," etc. Therefore, the subsequent consciousness will also recall, "I have seen it before." Because the previous and subsequent consciousnesses are not different entities. Because, whatever has been experienced, memory will not be something that has not been experienced; whatever has been determined by experience, memory will not be something that has not been determined. This way of experiencing and remembering is also just the way of worldly convention, and does not require excessive analysis. Because all worldly conventions are false. Saying that if the meaning is different, there will be no experience and memory, this is said to dispel the wrong views of the realists. The Madhyamikas do not prove through analytical reasoning that experience and memory are reasonable because they are not other in their own school. Also, some people think that the consciousness of different continuums is not other, but similar, so they have experienced it before.
