Therefore, according to you, if you bless things like stones and wood with mantras, you must say that a self-existent entity with the function of a magical horse (220a) is newly produced, which is not the view of the Madhyamaka school that was previously known. Therefore, the phenomena of samsara are also established as naturally nirvana, which has not been established from the beginning. In this way, the Dharma that is realized and understood without obscurations is established as non-abiding nirvana. If it is not naturally nirvana, there is no time when it can be established as non-abiding nirvana. Therefore, non-abiding nirvana is emptiness, free from elaboration, the ultimate truth, while samsara is elaboration, conventional truth, because the nature of phenomena is not established, and in emptiness there is equality, so samsara and nirvana are inseparable. Moreover, conceptualization and dharmakaya are of one taste, bondage and liberation are equal, and afflictions are primordial wisdom, which are spoken by the perfectly enlightened Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who dwell on the earth. As it is said: 'This is called samsara, this is called nirvana, abandoning samsara elsewhere, there is no nirvana.' It is also said: 'Samsara and nirvana, there is no slight difference, nirvana and samsara, there is no slight difference, whatever is the limit of nirvana, that is the limit of samsara, the difference between the two, even the slightest is not.' Also, Je Gampopa said: 'This conceptualization that grasps at characteristics, hold it tightly as the dharmakaya.' (220b) Also, Khro Phu Lo chen Byams pa Dpal said: 'If you understand one Dharma from the heart, all suffering is happiness, all samsara is nirvana, all conceptualizations are dharmakaya, all afflictions are wisdom, all grasping and being grasped are non-dual, all views are realization, in the sky without acceptance or rejection, count cause and effect like a dream.' And so on, there are infinite contents, then all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana are neither real nor false, and if they are not established there, then how can the phenomena of the six karmic appearances of the six types of beings, each with the consciousness that can function, be real? Therefore, you of the Madhyamaka school think that all the phenomena that can function are such and such.

Even so, to meticulously select and search for a truly established and true dharma as an object of knowledge that can be refuted is impossible to find. If it could be found, to say that such true establishment must be refuted, what is that? It is nothing more than the raving of someone afflicted by a severe obsession with realism. Therefore, the karmic appearances of the six realms do not meet the standard of truth, as has already been stated in the "Sixth Chapter of Intentional Union," so please refer to that. Regarding the main point of this treatise, Ra nag go chen pas said: The teacher, the Venerable Chandrakirti, considered that in conventional truth, when things are divided into true and false based on terminology, the subject possessing the object is also divided in the same way. In general, when the terminology of any one of the six realms is taken as the basis, both the object and the subject possessing the object of that realm are true in terms of terminology. On that basis (221a), the object and the subject possessing the object of the appearances of the other five realms are considered to be non-existent in terms of terminology. Here, the teacher, the Complete and Perfect Buddha, manifested enlightenment in Jambudvipa, turned the wheel of Dharma, compiled the scriptures, and composed commentaries, all of which were done in the form of a human being. Therefore, the appearance of humans is true in terms of terminology. On that basis, the distinction that the appearances of other beings are not true is established. For flowing water, both the water and its subject possessing the object are true in terms of terminology. However, other appearances such as pus, both the object and the subject possessing the object are not true even in terms of terminology; this is the key point. If one connects the beginning and end of the teacher's treatise and commentary, there is nothing that cannot be understood. This seems to be written on paper and engraved on woodblocks. This explanation is given because the focus of attention on whether something is true or false in terms of terminology is concentrated on the recurring conventional truth, and that is why it is said in this way. Saying this is like publicly declaring that the goods have been sold out. If your first view is distilled into words, it would become like this: When the terminology of any one of the six realms is taken as the basis, both the object and the subject possessing the object of that realm are true in terms of terminology. Because on that basis, the object and the subject possessing the object of the appearances of the other five realms are considered to be non-existent. This statement seems to be an admission of what the great teacher, the Venerable Chandrakirti, (221b) refuted.
