When abiding in the seventh long-gone ground of generating bodhicitta, not only do the wisdoms of conventional Bodhisattvas overwhelm the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, but also the wisdoms of ultimate Bodhisattvas (47a) overwhelm them, thus the wisdom that realizes the two truths becomes even more supreme. Because the perfection of skillful means is attained on that ground, they are constantly in meditative equipoise and arise from it for each moment of thought; and because they abide in the greatness of fully knowing without clinging to characteristics, such as their own realm, the dharmadhatu, sutras, etc., but rather knowing them as they are, free from characteristics. This subject-property is not present in Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and lower grounds. As it is said: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, it is like this: for example, a prince born into a royal family, possessing the name of a king, merely by being born, can overwhelm all the ministers with the majesty of the king; it is not by discriminating with the power of his own intellect. When he grows up, by developing the power of his own intellect, he greatly surpasses all the affairs of the ministers. O sons of the Victorious Ones, likewise, a Bodhisattva, as soon as he generates bodhicitta, merely by the greatness of his superior intention, overwhelms all Hearers and Solitary Realizers; it is not by discriminating with the power of his own intellect. A Bodhisattva abiding on the seventh ground of a Bodhisattva, because he abides in the greatness of knowing his own realm, greatly surpasses all the activities of Hearers and Solitary Realizers." This scripture shows that Hearers and Solitary Realizers realize the selflessness of phenomena, because there are three lines of reasoning and seven scriptural proofs to establish this. The first line of reasoning is: Hearers and Solitary Realizers, etc., are the subject (47b). Even a Bodhisattva who has generated the first thought can overwhelm them with the power of wisdom, because they do not fully know that things are without inherent existence. Like worldly non-attachment. The sign is accepted, the pervasion is established. If you assert this, it contradicts the scripture of the tenth ground. The second line of reasoning is: Hearers and Solitary Realizers, etc., are the subject. They have not abandoned all the subtle defilements of the three realms, because they cling to forms, etc., as truly established entities, thus giving rise to inverted, afflicted minds. Like non-attachment of outsiders. The third line of reasoning is: They consider the aggregates to be impermanent.

And the Hearers and Solitary Realizers who are attached to things such as selflessness, the subject of the thesis. It is also impossible to realize the selflessness of persons, because they are those who have a view that focuses on the aggregates as the basis for the imputation of self. For example, if the true clinging to the parts of a chariot, such as the wheels, is not prevented, then the true clinging to the chariot, which is the basis of the aggregation of those parts, is also not prevented. The subject property is admitted. The reason for the thesis is that viewing the aggregates as impermanent, suffering, and selfless things, etc., cannot eradicate the self-grasping on the aggregates, which are the subject of the thesis, and the attachment, etc., which are the causes of that, because those things do not harm the true clinging to things at all. Because viewing the aggregates as impermanent and permanent, and as things that have or do not have a self, etc., is similar to going against the meaning of abiding in the reality of emptiness, those things cannot act as an antidote to it. For example, just as hatred that grasps an object as impure cannot fundamentally eliminate the desire that grasps an object as impure. The Root Wisdom says: "If one holds that what exists is permanent, that is a wrong view. How is it not a wrong view to hold that emptiness is impermanent?" Also, in terms of this meaning, if one does not comprehend equality, then one cannot attain Nirvana by merely understanding the superficial Four Truths. In the Extensive Mother Sutra, it says: "By knowing suffering, one does not completely escape suffering, nor does one escape by suffering. By knowing the origin, one does not completely escape the origin, nor does one escape by the origin. By knowing cessation, one does not completely escape cessation, nor does one escape by cessation. By knowing the path, one does not completely escape the path, nor does one escape by the path. Thus, whatever is the equality of these four noble truths, that is what I have shown to be purified, and equality is suchness." And so on, extensively. In the explanation of the meaning of this sutra, it is said that in the holy land, if one does not realize the meaning of equality, then one cannot even attain Nirvana, and that one cannot attain non-abiding Nirvana, two systems arise. Some Tibetans who appeared in the final five hundred years believe that ignorance and destructive views, etc., which arise from the upper and lower Abhidharma, can be eliminated by meditating on the pure aspects of truth that arise from that system. If that is the case,
