Because arising is the ultimate truth that transcends dependent origination, even so, the views and meditations of those schools are not unspoken by the teacher, and it is not meaningless to practice in that way, because it is only beneficial for dispelling the clinging views that are contrary to conventional self-emptiness. Even so, merely viewing and meditating on that is not the supreme emptiness that becomes the definite cause of great enlightenment, because that emptiness is not the emptiness that possesses all perfections. So it is said. Zilong Chokdenpa said: When cutting through the Madhyamaka of Sutra and Tantra with view, there is no difference between blocking the arising of the four extremes such as existence and non-existence from form to omniscience and negating it as non-existence. However, when practicing with meditation, there is a difference, that is, in whatever way existence and non-existence are, the luminous wisdom of non-duality of the object of negation is a special experience that is only directed inward. From the aspect of being grasped by the profound means of mantra, it is the Madhyamaka of mantra, and even if it is not grasped by the profound means of mantra, the view experienced from it is the Madhyamaka view that is distinguished from the Madhyamaka view of the Svabhavasunyata school, because it is the unsurpassed Madhyamaka view spoken of in the latter Dharma of Lord Maitreya. This school is called the False-Aspect Madhyamaka, because it is established by scripture and reason, so it must be established in that way. It is unreasonable for Tibetans to refer to the False-Aspect Mind-Only as the Mind-Only, because the difference between the True-Aspect and False-Aspect or the Mind-Only and the Madhyamaka is: the first difference is the acceptance of the truly established parikalpita and the acceptance of the truly established wisdom; although they are the same in not accepting the other substance of the grasper and the grasped that depends on external objects, the second difference is the acceptance and non-acceptance of the other substance of the grasper and the grasped that depends on the inner consciousness; the third difference is the acceptance of the unreal parikalpita or the grasped appearance as truly established and the acceptance as illusion; the difference is the acceptance of all appearances as mind and the acceptance of all appearances as dharmadhatu. The dharmadhatu here should not be regarded as the non-affirming space as conceived by the Svabhavasunyata school, but as the luminosity of the nature of mind, and mind also has two types, conventional and ultimate, and it refers to the latter.

The difference between the two is (11a) The consciousness of dualistic appearance of grasper and grasped and the non-dual wisdom, which is based on the latter. So it is said. The great Bodongpa said: If you examine it very carefully, there is no difference at all in the view of Sutra and Tantra in terms of freedom from elaboration, because there is nothing in all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana that can be established by examination. However, if you examine it a little, the Madhyamaka of Tantra is: the ultimate truth of self-nature spontaneously accomplished, or the nature of the yoga of Vajrayana practitioners, the pure and indestructible conventional truth with three characteristics, and those who are the self and the agent, who accomplish the fruits to be obtained, such as the three bodies. In this way, there are also pure individuals and objects of the agent. If you do not examine it, you should establish it as it is usually said. Although you establish the nature of pure individuals and the agent and owner of the Dharma in this way, there is no true self of individuals and Dharma, because you must accept the selflessness that pervades all phenomena. So it is said. Shar Tsongkhapa said: Although there is no difference in the view of Madhyamaka of Sutra and Tantra for emptiness that is not established by conceptual thought, but is established from its own side, and is empty of true establishment. However, there is a great difference between the paths of Sutra and Tantra in terms of whether or not the tactile sensation of the mother of wisdom, which determines it, is able to realize that view. In short, because without it, it is impossible to realize it as it is, and by that alone, it is impossible to destroy even the subtle obscurations of knowledge. In the Tantric path, because it realizes it as it is, it can destroy even the subtle obscurations of knowledge. In order to attain unsurpassed enlightenment, if you do not add the Tantric path to the Sutra path (11b) you will not be able to attain Buddhahood by the Sutra path alone. This point was not understood by Tsongkhapa himself even after meeting Manjushri, because he later relied on solitary places and so on, and did not understand it until a great increase in his samadhi had been achieved. Therefore, there is a difference between the time when he composed the Lamrim Chenmo and the time when he composed the Illumination of the Five Stages, in terms of whether or not his samadhi was complete. The subtle differences in the meaning of Tantra are completely revealed in the Illumination of the Five Stages. So it is said. First of all, it is unreasonable, because the main point to be refuted by all the Madhyamaka of Sutra and Tantra is these two great extremes of permanence and annihilation.
