Because even obtaining (luminosity) ceases, ultimately the mind of clear light arises. Therefore, according to the profound Mantrayana, it is said that there are eight consciousnesses in name, but they actually exist, because the eight consciousnesses, which are the nature of appearance, increase, and attainment, are established by self-experience, as Je Gotsangpa said. Je Marpa Lotsawa said that even in name, it is not certain that they exist in reality, as the Mind-Only school says about the Alaya-consciousness, afflicted mind, and mind, but in Secret Mantra, the way in which appearance, increase, and attainment cease refers to the fact that the consciousnesses of the six senses cease slightly, or mostly, or completely. Even if only the term "eight consciousnesses" is used, it is doubtful that the term "eight consciousnesses" from the six consciousnesses (27a) is completely established, please understand it that way. Therefore, according to the tradition of the lineage of the great Vajradhara's empowerment, whether it is the Buddha attained from Sutra or Tantra, and what is used to attain it, and the basis, path, and result of what is attained, although the names Tathagatagarbha, mind, and clear light are the same, the meaning of the basis of imputation is completely different. Therefore, by practicing the Buddha of the Sutra system, the Buddha of the Tantra system will not be obtained incidentally, and by practicing the Buddha of the Tantra system, the Buddha of the Sutra system will be attained incidentally, that is what they believe. This is the life-eye of the Dharma of all Sutras and Tantras, without error, therefore, although the Victorious Drikungpa greatly proclaimed this fearless lion's roar as the single intention of the profound Dharma, for the scholars, accomplished ones, Panditas, Jetsuns, and other incomparable holders of fame whose ears of the Fortunate Aeon have deteriorated, if they do not even distinguish the opportunity to hear it slightly, how will it appear in memory? Then, isn't the Tathagatagarbha also taught in the Sutras? Although it is taught, it is only taught in name, because those to-be-tamed beings cannot understand its meaning, so it is taught in a non-literal way, but in Mantra, there is no such thing as clearly teaching its meaning in both literal and non-literal ways. Even if there is a teaching of its meaning hidden by implication or incidentally, the Sutra path as the means of attainment will not make use of the Tathagatagarbha (27b) taught in the Tantra as the basis of attainment.

Moreover, by means of the eight or six consciousnesses, one eliminates the two obscurations and accumulates the two accumulations, thereby attaining the result, which is the Buddhahood of the Sutra system. Therefore, in the Sutras, the Tathāgatagarbha is described as unconditioned (藏文:འདུས་མ་བྱས་,梵文天城体:असंस्कृत,梵文罗马拟音:asaṃskṛta,汉语字面意思:未造作的), and sometimes, based on the unconditioned, it is described as existent, and sometimes as non-existent emptiness. Considering the second explanation, the great translator explains the Tathāgatagarbha as emptiness, which is non-affirming negation. Consistent with this, Ārya Siṃha explains the support for practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, which is the emptiness of the Dharmadhātu. Considering the first explanation, the great Jōnaṅpa explains the Tathāgatagarbha as permanent, stable, enduring, and unconditioned existent. Such limitless darkness of ignorance, which has not reached the edge, appears in the realm of knowable objects, who can possibly describe it all? The third explanation is not reasonable, because after thorough investigation, both the Sutras and Tantras agree that all phenomena are inconceivable and cannot be expressed with other words. Although there is nothing unreasonable in emphasizing and explaining the qualities of the cause, the Tathāgatagarbha, as pure, indestructible, and possessing three special qualities, the way of explaining it has not been carefully examined, and there are problems with the classification of the three ways of explaining: slightly examined, and thoroughly examined. When examining slightly, it becomes a fault because it goes beyond the seal of the words of the Blessed One and goes to other meanings. Furthermore, by accepting the pure individual, there are two individuals in the continuum of a sentient being until they attain Buddhahood (28a). When Buddhahood is attained, one is cut off, and the other remains. If one believes in this way, it is shown that faults arise. Regarding the first point, such a view is not permissible even in the Madhyamaka system. In particular, you yourself claim to be the incarnation of Candrakīrti, and you have vowed that your Madhyamaka view is the same as that explained in the time of Candrakīrti, which contradicts your vow. The first point is, if one thinks that like most Madhyamikas such as Svātantrika-Madhyamikas, they also make a distinction between right and wrong in conventional truth, then they also make a distinction between existence and non-existence, and truth and falsehood in the pure and impure of conventional truth. Then, the object of attachment in their way of distinguishing and your way of distinguishing is not the same, because they explain it solely from the perspective of conventional truth, while you, when investigating, also
