Here, are all phenomena that arise and perish in a single instant without anything abiding? If they arise and perish without abiding, then at that time, even a rabbit's horn would come into existence. If one abides from what is born, perishes from what has abided, and is born from what has perished, then abiding, perishing, and arising are not the same, as they are understood by their distinct characteristics. Here, at the time when there is abiding, there is no arising or perishing. At the time when there is perishing, there is no arising or abiding. At the time when there is arising, there is no abiding or perishing. What is called time is an instant. If it is at one time, then what else are arising, aging, and dying but the same? Here, where do phenomena arise and perish in a single instant? Does the later phenomenon arise from the previous phenomenon having ceased, or from a phenomenon that has not ceased? (༢༢ན) If it arises from a phenomenon that has ceased, then at that time, another lamp arises from a lamp that has ceased. If it arises from what has not ceased, then just as a lamp arises from a lamp that has not ceased, so too does another arise from it. Thus, because it arises from what has arisen, it will become a garland of consciousness, like a garland of lamps. Therefore, it cannot be said that another arises from the previous consciousness not having ceased, nor from what has ceased. Nor is it from what is mixed, because they contradict each other and are not the same. Thus it is said. Thus, such false appearances, if only the wisdom that lacks the aspects of the primary mind and so forth that are in accordance with mental factors such as wisdom, then it is not reasonable to be the definitive meaning of ultimate truth, because if that were the case, then all mindless things would also be the definitive meaning of ultimate truth. Therefore, even the non-dual wisdom that is free from delusion, if it does not arise as the nature of self-awareness when knowing the aspects of all phenomena, then it cannot know others, so the self-awareness of wisdom is extensively established. There, those who are not skilled in this way, who consider non-thought to be wisdom, will fall into great nihilism, some will say, therefore it has been said. If Buddhahood is bestowed by the wisdom of non-thought, then why are all sentient beings
