Although never agreeing, he widely agrees with the subsequent self-continuum mentioned by others, which has become a well-spoken statement. You consequentialists, when entering the accumulation of merit, accept the self-continuum, and when entering the other, you do not accept it. This expectation of proficiency is like not admitting washing when the sky is dried by the sun, but admitting washing when soaked by rain. What is the difference? Second, to show that Legden himself has the fault of contradicting his own commitments. That is, stating Legden's system, and stating many faults in it, and connecting the statement of faults with Legden's own commitments. The first is: Furthermore, this Legden logician wants to show others that he is only very proficient in logical treatises (116a), so even though he admits the Madhyamaka view that all dharmas are emptiness and selflessness, he still realizes that the self-continuum that proves it, or the verbal expression of the argument established by the measure of his own system, is the source of many extremely serious faults. Why is that? For the time being, let's say that in this case of preventing my birth, the words that become the self-continuum argument are: From the ultimate point of view, the internal sources of birth are definitely not born from me, because they exist. For example, just like the existence of knowledge. It is written like this. Here, the desire to show others that he is proficient in logical treatises is consistent with what was said earlier that he is a logician who is attached to incorrect thinking, and that these words were spoken there. When realists engage in logical refutation and establishment, the fault of proving that refutation and establishment themselves are true incorrect thinking is greatly exposed. In this way, it is the system of wise men to commit to the existing self-system's thesis and to present the self-system's proof, because it exists in logical treatises. In order to establish its doctrine, when a Madhyamaka speaks correctly, when not holding any position of his own system, Legden also expresses himself in the name of the proof as self-evident or self-continuum. The second is: In this case, Legden, why do you place the distinction called "ultimate truth" on the distinction of dharma or dharmic?

It is. If there is a difference in the Dharma, there are three faults. First, if the world conventionally (ཀུན་རྫོབ་,samvrti, conventional truth, obscuration) asserts self-origination, the Madhyamaka school should not refute it, because the Madhyamaka school also acknowledges self-origination in conventional truth. If one refutes origination in conventional truth, it would lead to the fault that the Madhyamaka school only acknowledges self-origination in conventional truth. Therefore, should we add the word "ultimate truth"? This is not reasonable, because the Madhyamaka school does not even acknowledge self-origination in conventional truth. As it is said in the Sālu Ljangpa Sutra: "The sprout that arises from the seed cause, when it arises, is not made by itself, not made by others, not made by both, not made by Īśvara, not transformed by time, not arisen from atoms, not arisen from nature, and does not arise from no cause." Similarly, in the Gya Rol it is said: "If there is a seed, the sprout is like that. Whatever is the seed, the sprout is not that. It is not different from it, nor is it the same. Thus, it is neither permanent nor annihilated, it is the nature of Dharma." In this very root text it is also said: "That which arises dependent on what, that is temporarily not the same as that. Because it is not different from that, therefore it is neither annihilated nor permanent." This is how it is explained. When worldly people conventionally rely on conventional origination, etc., to engage in worldly terms, the Madhyamaka school, in accordance with the world, follows and states it, and when making worldly terms, because it does not prevent mere origination there, how would worldly people think of self-origination in conventional truth? Where has the Madhyamaka school ever said self-origination in conventional truth? Therefore, adding the word "ultimate truth" to the object to be refuted is irrelevant. Second, if it is said that the distinction of ultimate truth is made in consideration of the view of other Samkhyas who believe in self-origination in ultimate truth (དོན་དམ་,paramārtha, ultimate truth, the highest meaning), that is also unreasonable, because the Madhyamaka school has not even acknowledged that the arrangements of those Samkhyas are merely conventional truth. Chandrakirti realized that because they have fallen from seeing the two truths without error, the tenets of the heretics, to the extent that they refute self-origination from the perspective of both truths, to that extent it is a virtue. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to speak of the distinction of ultimate truth in consideration of the views of other schools.
