There is no fault of not establishing the thesis because there is no statement of dust (as an example), so it does not contradict the commitment. Because there is no statement of the reason etc. established by self-tradition's valid cognition, there is no need to eliminate the faults of the opponent's stated pledge and reason. Although there is no self-interest, it is shown that there are reasons and examples etc. for the purpose of refuting others. It shows that the opposite meaning of the consequence is related to other Samkhyas etc. Nagarjuna also showed that when refuting others, he mostly uses the method of consequence to stop them. The first point is that all these faults stated by Gunamati, we Chandrakirti see as unreasonable. How is it unreasonable? Because we on this side have not stated the reason and example for the time being. What is said is unreasonable. Why? Even if those established by self-tradition's valid cognition are not stated, it is not a place of cessation. Because in the two truths, it is liberated from all the elaborations of valid cognition etc. (104b). Moreover, not stating those recognized by others will be explained below. Here, by questioning the Samkhya's assertion of self-origination through internal contradiction of commitment, it can also eliminate its wrong view. Because the meaning of attachment of what the Samkhya says, "born from self," is that the existence of the same fruit and nature is the cause, and it is itself produced. And "born from self, because it is born from its own existence" is a pervasive contradiction. Because if existence itself is production, then there is no need for production. If it produces like that, it will also be seen that production has no end. Saying this, it is not possible to accept that fault. Because you Samkhyas do not want what has already been produced to be produced again, and you do not want it to be endless. Therefore, your Samkhyas' argument about the existence of self-origination is devoid of the reason for establishment. If existence produces, then production is unnecessary and endless. If it is said that there is no reason, then it contradicts what one has committed to. Thus, it is to ask questions in order to refute the opponent's assertion of being born from self. No matter who the debater is, the result of negating self-origination by stating the reason and example established by self-tradition's valid cognition

According to our translation, if one argues with just these refutations stating contradictions, wouldn't the opponent, the Samkhya school, admit that in their own tenets, the thesis and the reason are contradictory? Recognizing the contradiction is the direct effect of the refutation, and (105a) abandoning the tenet is the indirect effect. If one argues with just these arguments and examples, along with their consequences, this explanation seems to be a pure statement from early documents on the subject, but it is not very relevant. Therefore, it is better to explain it this way: the refuter, for the sake of any famous internal contradiction in the Samkhya school, argues with just those arguments and examples accepted by them and known to others, along with the consequence of negating self-origination, which can be seen in some old documents. However, if even by arguing with contradictions to what the Samkhya school themselves have promised, self-origination cannot be prevented, then even if one states the arguments and examples established through one's own system of valid cognition, it will not change from the tenet of self-origination, because that person is shameless. If one states correct arguments and examples, one can prevent self-origination, because by establishing the three aspects through one's own system of valid cognition, one can refute the opponent's view. If so, the refutation can also do it, because the thesis is established through the promise, and therefore refuting the opponent's view is the same. If even by showing the harm of reason in this way one cannot prevent it, then we are not arguing with a madman either, again expressing shamelessness with the word "also." Therefore, the teacher Lekdenjé is not a holder of any established position in the Madhyamika's own tenets, but when fully engaging in inferences that follow such a holder, (105b) he merely reveals a fondness for inferences established through essentialism. Because it is merely revealing fondness, even if one analyzes the two truths, it is impossible to find any dharma that can be established through one's own system of valid cognition. The second point is that if one is a Madhyamika, then there should also not be inferences that follow one's own lineage, because the following is established through one's own system of valid cognition...
