Because it is unreasonable for sequence and the other to function. It is said that the person who cannot be said to be momentary or non-momentary is itself without inherent existence, like a flower in the sky, etc., it is established without needing to be fabricated. Thus it is said. Therefore, even in the scriptures of other Prasangikas, there are many excellent explanations that in conventional truth, things are established by their own characteristics as conventional truth, but not as truly existent, but I will refrain from elaborating. In short, as an example of repeatedly emphasizing what is important, it is not possible for Prasangikas to establish a thesis (101b) and reason for any object of reality that is established by valid cognition, whether by children or noble beings, in both truths. Because this system is free from adhering to any side, others strongly criticize, saying, "You do not establish anything, therefore, it is a fault to state that there is no thesis," and then accuse us, saying, "In that case, that itself has become a thesis." However, we have understood that the basis of objects of reality is never established by valid cognition, so it is meaningless to express those things as verbal elaborations. However, in order to dispel the accusations of existence or non-existence by others, we speak with the intention of verbal elaboration in order to refute others. Even at that time, I do not establish any thesis at all, because I have not even thought of it in my mind. How can something without a thesis become a thesis? If so, since you have not established your own system of what is established by valid cognition, it follows that you will not be able to refute others with consequences, because you do not have the thought of wanting to speak. If you have the thought of wanting to speak, then the thesis that is the opposite of that consequence will also equally give rise to the thought of wanting to speak, and if that arises, then the opposite of that consequence will inevitably become a verbal elaboration of a thesis. If you say that, it will not become so, because although there is the desire to speak in order to dispel the wrong conceptions of others, what is the use if there is no one who establishes their own wrong conceptions? For example, like the reasons and examples given by Prasangikas, or like the example of someone with clear eyes who wants to open the eyes of others that are covered by cataracts with an eye-opener, and even opens them, but the person with clear eyes (102a) does not necessarily want to open their own eyes. Furthermore, something without a thesis becomes a thesis.

If one thinks like that, then thinking like that is as foolish as a sheep. In that case, a non-affirming negation becomes an affirming negation, not raining becomes raining, and so on. Why wouldn't those foolish people expect that? Second, how did the proponents of consequentialist and autonomous reasoning separate and debate each other? In the root commentary, the Clear Words, it says: What appears in the context of refuting self-origination should be stated here without regard for the complexity of the words. There, from "the teacher Buddhapalita" to "because the teacher also did not speak the words of combination," 1. it shows that the teacher Buddhapalita has no fault. Furthermore, from "this logician" to "because he did not say that," 2. it shows that Bhavyaviveka himself has the fault of contradicting his own commitments. From "if other consequentialist inferences" to "it is permissible to elaborate extensively," 3. it shows that Chandrakirti himself has no fault of contradiction. In the first part, there is the establishment of Buddhapalita's system, to which Bhavyaviveka states a refutation, and Chandrakirti says that it is unreasonable. The first part is: The teacher Buddhapalita also said: Things do not arise from themselves, because their arising would become meaningless, and it would become very excessive. For those things that exist as their own nature, there is no need for them to arise again. If they exist and also arise, then they will never become non-arising. Thus (102b) he said. Regarding this meaning, in the ancient texts it is written: The teacher Buddhapalita said: Things do not arise from themselves, whether it is established as autonomous reasoning or as consequentialist reasoning. Although it is a genuine commitment to refute others, it is not a genuine commitment to establish one's own system. To this, for the non-Buddhist Samkhya who wants self-origination, it would follow that origination is meaningless and exhaustive. Because it exists. Like a manifest pot. It cannot be thought of like that, because it has already been committed to in that. "Those" etc. hold the three: example, reason, and established. Although the word "because" appears twice, it is not the reason. The nature of the self of things etc. is its extensive explanation, therefore Bhavyaviveka simply did not understand Buddhapalita's way of combining. Thus it is written. The second is, this
