It is not the case that grasping at arising, etc. As it is said in the Ornament Root Commentary: If all dharmas are asserted to be without inherent existence, then is it not the case that inference and the term 'to be inferred' cannot be established because the qualities of direction, etc., are not established in themselves? Therefore, how does the inferrer ascertain? Furthermore, if the reason for establishing all dharmas as being without inherent existence is not stated, then because it is not established without a reason, the desired meaning is not established. If it is stated, then there is a reason, but even so, all dharmas are not established as being without inherent existence, so the desired meaning is not established. This is because, in this way, the distinctions arising from the scriptures, having abandoned the subject of the thesis, among the wise, women, and children, all the well-known entities, the entities of proof and what is to be proven, completely and correctly enter. If it is not so, then the basis is not established. How should answers such as these be given? I do not deny the entities that are of the nature of appearance. Therefore, the establishment of proof and what is to be proven is not confused. All terms of inference and what is to be inferred, having completely abandoned the different subjects of the thesis generated by mutually inconsistent tenets (93a), enter relying on the subject of the thesis, such as sound, which is a division of the nature of appearance to the consciousness of the eye and ear, etc., among the wise, women, and children. If it is not so, then the basis of the reason for all that is intended to be proven, such as smoke and existence, fire and impermanence, etc., will not be established, because the nature of the subject of the thesis, the limb and the qualities of space, etc., are not established. Thus, the subject of the example that possesses both qualities will also not be established. If others also accept the terms of proof and what is to be proven in this way, then what is the use of the fame of surpassing the wise? In this way, one only sees the faults of others' positions without looking at one's own position. I also do not eliminate the entities that are of the nature of appearance to the consciousness of the eye, etc., but if examined with wisdom and knowledge, like the trunk of a water tree, because not even a little essence appears, it is not accepted as ultimately true. Therefore, the meaning of appearance is not refuted.

Therefore, for the proof without clinging to inherent existence and for all phenomena to which the terms of proof apply, there is no harm in saying that they are without inherent existence. As it is said: "If one does not rely on the six clingings, then conventionalities will be well established. If one is skilled in conventionalities, then one will not be ignorant of the meaning of the scriptures." And in the commentary on the Two Truths Root Text, it says: "Thus, in the minds of both disputants, to the extent that there is an appearance, to that extent, relying on that, one understands the subject, the predicate, and so on. At that time, inference arises. When is it not otherwise? Therefore, those who speak reasonably, who would prevent them from speaking in that way? The terms of inference and what is to be inferred are established as the subject, the predicate, and the example itself in the aspect that appears in the minds of the disputant and the opponent. Because it is not possible for inference to arise when both the subject and the predicate, and so on, are not established. It is not otherwise, because those who abide in different philosophical systems do not have the same mind in anything. Those who abide in such a subject should acknowledge that they think about whether it truly exists or not only with such a reason and so on. Therefore, if those who speak reasonably also cause inference to arise in that way, who would prevent it? This is established as the same, so I will not elaborate here." It says. Therefore, the later teachers of the Svātantrika school say that because the subject and its qualities, etc., are not commonly established by both disputants, the sprout, etc., that appears in the minds of both disputants without examination is held as the object of dispute. And the Prāsaṅgikas say that because the subject and its qualities established by the Svātantrikas cannot be commonly established by both disputants, the subject and its qualities, etc., spoken by others in the world are the object of dispute, and the second disputant also repeats it in accordance with the disputant. What is said is that the way of expressing the words is different, but apart from the different ways of expressing the words, the focus of thought is established as the same. Therefore, regarding the way of proving and what is to be proven of the profound emptiness, the views of the teachers of the Prāsaṅgika and Svātantrika schools are not different, because they all directly see the truth of the nature of reality and lead all sentient beings into that one truth.

Because they are great Bodhisattvas. Even so, the slight differences in expression are like a skilled doctor giving different medicines such as sweet and sour to patients suffering from various diseases to cure them. Similarly, for those with various forms of clinging to reality, the Dharma is taught in different ways to eradicate these clingings. Therefore, who would doubt that the views of these teachers are inconsistent, given the infinite ways of teaching the Dharma? Thus, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, heroes, dakinis, Dharma protectors, and guardians of the ten directions and three times, all the noble assemblies, have the same understanding in the profound, non-elaborate Dharmadhatu. And all the inexpressible words that express it are of one voice and one throat. As the all-knowing Victorious One, the protector, the lord of the three realms, Drikungpa, has said, it is excellent! Thirdly, explaining how the views of the Prasangika and Svatantrika schools differ within the Madhyamaka tradition held by the great Tsongkhapa, who personally relied on Manjushri. Here, the meaning of the words of his son, Khedrup Je, is quoted: The Prasangikas believe that, as a subject, the measurable, which is established by its own characteristics, does not exist even nominally as a valid means of measurement. In that respect, it is impossible for the subject to be consistent with the opponent and proponent established by valid cognition. However, in general, the subject is established by valid cognition for both the opponent and proponent. The reason established based on the acceptance of what is established by valid cognition in the tenets of the opponent and proponent, such as the subject and the probandum (94b), is the inference of what is known to others, and merely by the Prasangika argument, it causes others to generate the realization of non-reality. The Svatantrikas, on the other hand, believe that, from the way things abide in their objects, the object of cognition that is not confused about being established by its own characteristics, the reason for attainment, is the subject established in the common appearance in the tenets of both the opponent and proponent. Upon that, the Dharma to be proven, which the previous opponent wanted to measure and engage in, is established as the reason for establishing, which is the meaning of the sign of Svatantra. That is how it seems to be explained. Also, quoting the meaning of the words of his son, Gungru Gyaltsang: Searching for the meaning of the terms "reason," "property," and "meaning," and relying on what is established in the common appearance for both the opponent and proponent to make assertions and refutations, is the tenet of the Svatantrika school. Searching for the meaning of the terms "reason," "property," and "meaning"
