De. The Bhagavan also said: Without abandoning the conventional truths, one cannot realize the ultimate truth. Because it is so, therefore, one should thoroughly distinguish all things that are conventional truths with wisdom. The so-called conventional is the meaning of distinguishing all things such as form, that is, the worldly terms that are not inverted. This is the truth, because it is the valid means that arises from all establishments. Among them, first, form has two kinds and twenty kinds, and so on. Similarly, there are also letters, treatises, calculations, methods of speaking, causes of wealth inheritance, medicine, divination, and mantras, etc. Whatever is praised in the world should be well distinguished. Among them (85a)

Regarding explanations, Buddhapālita and Bhāviveka are known and established among scholars as Prasangika and Svatantrika respectively, due to their use of mere consequentialism and independent proofs (85b). The distinction between them, namely non-abiding and reasoning through illusion, is not reasonable to be called a cause of wonder for the ignorant, as it has been explained by many authoritative sources in the noble land (India). Thus it is said. In this way, it is not reasonable for a Prasangika to say to a Svatantrika that in conventional truth, phenomena have the power of objects, and although their valid cognition does not exist in ultimate truth, in conventional truth, there exist phenomena that have the power of objects like illusions. For even in conventional truth, if something exists by the power of conventional objects and is established by valid cognition, then it must be infallible there. If it is infallible and truly exists there, then all conventional truths would become not false and not fabricated. Therefore, admitting that phenomena like illusions have the power of objects and that they are established by valid cognition is also a self-contradictory statement. For if illusory horses and so on are established by the valid cognition of the power of objects, then the illusory horse is not an illusion, but becomes an independently existing horse. Therefore, it is clear that even the view that all phenomena are truly apprehended by valid cognition as illusions still has a slight residue of clinging to elaborations and signs. As the great scholar Pawo said in the instructions for meditating on ultimate bodhicitta: Therefore, without investigation, it is pleasing to experience that the mind is like an illusion, and even enlightenment is like an illusion. Being deceived by merely contemplating it as an illusion, one does not see Manjushri, who is free from elaborations and beyond words. Illusion is not merely illusion, for if it were, it would not be established. If it were established, then the tenets of other schools (86a) would also become illusory phenomena. Therefore, the nature of illusion cannot be said to be like this illusion. Because it is said so. Then, does relying on the tenets of the Svatantrika school prevent one from realizing the meaning of suchness? It does not, because one realizes the meaning of emptiness, which is to be proven, such as being separate from one and many, with respect to subjects such as sprouts. Even so, although those proofs are expressed in conventional terms, the difference between Prasangika and Svatantrika is that they believe that they are established or not established merely in conventional terms. The object to be proven and the means of proof in conventional terms

The mind that clings to reality, even in the tenets of the Svatantrika school, can be naturally transformed by the power of habituating the view of Madhyamaka from the outside. Therefore, the Prasangikas, relying on the conventional truth to seek the conventional, do not engage in refutation and establishment by accepting a valid cognition that enters by the power of things in the conventional; even in the conventional alone, there is no dharma that enters by the power of things, nor its valid cognition, but in order to temporarily narrate to the speakers of the world and the scriptures according to how the conventional appears, in order to eliminate the perverted clinging to appearances that clingers to reality have designated as deviating from suchness, the dharma that enters by the power of things in the two truths and the perverted clinging to appearances established by valid cognition. Therefore, although there is no establishment of what is to be proven and what proves in one's own system based on the two truths, the Prasangika system is to express refutation and establishment in accordance with the world in order to eliminate what others have designated; although there is no establishment of what is to be proven and what proves in one's own system based on the ultimate truth, the Svatantrika system is to express a special refutation and establishment that eliminates what others have designated with a reasonable establishment of what is to be proven and what proves in order to seek it based on the conventional, this is the instruction as the life force. In short, the Prasangikas consider all conventional things to be empty because they do not function there, and there is no valid cognition that establishes them as things there, if one strives to prove the dharma that enters by the power of things and its valid cognition, not only will one degenerate from the aspect of the ultimate truth, but also from the aspect of the conventional truth, because the conventional truth is merely established by worldly people clinging to it as true in illusion, if one examines its truthfulness, then it is prevented that its thing is true in the two truths, and the valid cognition that establishes truth, while the Svatantrikas are different from this, conventional things are not established by valid cognition in the ultimate, and examining conventional dharmas with reason, such as the difference of one moon, they admit that the dharma and valid cognition that enter by the power of things are established, and for its difference, such as two moons, by the power of things...
