Thus it was said. This quote is used by teachers Abhaya and Jaya Ananda to explain the arising of symbolic bodhicitta. But at that time, it is not entirely inconsistent with the views of this teacher, because it can also be applied there. Because the merit of bodhicitta cannot be compared to the merit of any shravaka or pratyekabuddha, whether worldly or transcendent. The second point is: that after a long time, wisdom will also become more superior. The one who first generates bodhicitta, when abiding in the seventh bhumi of bodhicitta for a long time, not only surpasses the shravakas and pratyekabuddhas with the mind of conventional bodhisattva, but also surpasses them from the aspect of the mind of ultimate bodhisattva (47a), so the wisdom of realizing the two truths becomes even more superior. Because in that bhumi, the perfection of skillful means is attained, so every moment of the mind is balanced in entering and arising from samadhi. And, it is not realized by focusing on the characteristics of one's own realm, such as the dharmadhatu sutra, but rather abiding in the greatness of fully knowing the absence of characteristics. This aspect of dharma is not possessed by shravakas, pratyekabuddhas, or those on lower bhumis. As it is said in the sutra: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, listen to this. For example, a prince born into a royal family, possessing the title of a prince, merely by being born, can overwhelm all the ministers' assemblies with the majesty of the king, but not by discriminating with the power of his own wisdom. When he grows up, by developing the power of his own wisdom, he will far surpass all the affairs of the ministers. O sons of the Victorious Ones, similarly, a bodhisattva, as soon as he generates bodhicitta, can overwhelm all the shravakas and pratyekabuddhas merely by the greatness of his superior intention, but not by discriminating with the power of his own wisdom. A bodhisattva abiding on the seventh bhumi of a bodhisattva, because he abides in the greatness of knowing his own realm, far surpasses all the affairs of shravakas and pratyekabuddhas." Thus it was said. This quote shows that shravakas and pratyekabuddhas realize the selflessness of phenomena, because it is proven there by three reasons and seven scriptural citations. The first reason is: those shravakas and pratyekabuddhas are the nature of dharma (47b), even the bodhisattva who generates the first bodhicitta

Because it can be overcome by the power of wisdom. Because it is not possible to fully understand that things have no self-nature. Like the detachment of worldly people. The sign is accepted. The pervasion is established. If you think so, it contradicts the Sutra of the Ten Grounds. The second reason is: Those Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the subject of the argument, have not abandoned all the subtle attachments of the three realms, because they cling to the self-nature of form, etc., as being truly established, and have become inverted minds with afflictions. Like the detachment of non-Buddhists. The third reason is: The Hearers and Solitary Realizers who cling to the aggregates as impermanent, selfless, etc., the subject of the argument, will also not realize the selflessness of persons, because they are holders of views that focus on the aggregates as the basis for imputation of self. For example, if one cannot reverse the clinging to the truth of the parts of a chariot, such as wheels, then one cannot reverse the clinging to the truth of the chariot, which is the basis of those assembled parts. The subject property is accepted. The way to establish the reason is: By seeing the aggregates as impermanent, suffering, selfless things, etc., it is not possible to eradicate the clinging to self of the aggregates, the subject of the argument, and the attachment, etc., which are caused by it, because those do not harm the clinging to the truth of things in the slightest, because seeing the aggregates as impermanent and permanent, and as things with or without self, etc., is the same as entering into inversion from the meaning of emptiness of reality, so it cannot act as its antidote. For example, just as hatred that perceives an object as unpleasant cannot fundamentally abandon the desire that perceives an object as unpleasant. The Root Wisdom says: If it is said that impermanence is permanence, then such clinging is wrong, how is it not wrong to cling to emptiness as impermanence? Moreover, if one does not comprehend equality, then merely understanding the Four Noble Truths is not enough to attain Nirvana. The Extensive Mother Sutra says: Knowing suffering does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does suffering liberate. Knowing the origin does not completely liberate from the origin, nor does the origin liberate. Knowing cessation does not completely liberate from cessation, nor does cessation liberate. Knowing the path does not completely liberate from the path, nor does the path liberate. Thus, these four noble truths
