If there is no virtuous result of non-existence, how can it be established as the result of maturation? Because the result of maturation exists only in non-virtue and virtuous actions with outflows, if one thinks like this. In some old texts of the Kadampa, it is written: Although the noble ones do not have the result of maturation of virtuous actions with outflows of afflictive obscurations, they do have the result of maturation of virtuous actions with outflows of cognitive obscurations, therefore it is established as the result of maturation. (From the first to the tenth bhumi, becoming the king of Jambudvipa, Sumeru, Avihā, Tuṣita, Nirmāṇarati, Paranirmita-vaśavartin, the thousand worlds, the two thousand worlds, the three thousand worlds, and Akanistha, the activities for the benefit of sentient beings become increasingly vast. Therefore, the Joyful bhumi of the bodhisattvas is the first generation of bodhicitta, and the Cloud of Dharma bhumi is the tenth generation of bodhicitta. The son of the buddhas, who first generates this mind, this bodhisattva, by what means are beings liberated, becoming subject to objectless compassion, and greatly (43b) dedicated to the joy that is dedicated by the aspiration of the bodhisattva Samantabhadra, this is called the first generation of bodhicitta, representing the fruit of the cause of non-dual wisdom. The aspiration of that bodhisattva is: Whatever buddhas have gone to the three times, all the specific aspirations of the bodhisattva's conduct, from the good conduct of enlightenment to buddhahood, all of these I will completely fulfill without exception. And so on, these ten great aspirations, and countless hundreds of thousands of aspirations, are planted in the first bhumi. The bodhisattva of the stage of adhimukti-caryā is not a bodhisattva who has generated the first bodhicitta, because it is similar to not having entered the result of the determination of the śrāvakas. In the sutra it says: By the nature of practicing with great faith and even greater faith, this first bhumi is immediately attained and abides, this is the bhumi where the mind of enlightenment has not arisen. And, considering the adhimukti-caryā, it says there: Sons of good family, for example, a wheel-turning king has surpassed the color of humans, but has not attained the color of gods. Similarly, the bodhisattva also surpasses worldly people, śrāvakas, and solitary buddhas.

It is far beyond all the lands, and the land of the ultimate Bodhisattva has not been attained. Thus it is said. Secondly, there are two explanations: other qualities of distinction, and mainly the perfection of generosity. First, there are two qualities: the quality of obtaining a special name and the quality of obtaining a special meaning. The first is: From then on, because he has attained it, he is called only by the name Bodhisattva. From the time of entering the Joyful Land, that prince is to be called only by the name Bodhisattva, and not by the name of ordinary people, etc., because at that time he is a noble being, and the main thing that establishes him there is that he has attained the wisdom that directly realizes that very thing. As the Blessed One said: The name Bodhisattva is a term for a being who follows realization, that is, who follows realization and knows all dharmas. How does one know? That is, it is not like the unborn, nor like the incorrectly born, nor like the inverted, and how those are measured by childish ordinary people, nor like what is obtained by childish ordinary people, therefore it is called Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because Bodhi is non-conceptual, Bodhi is uncreated, Bodhi is without object. Subduing with extreme effort, the Tathagata has not attained Bodhi, because he has not attained all dharmas, because he has not objectified all dharmas, therefore it is called Bodhi, such is the Bodhi of the Buddha, and not as it is said. Subduing with extreme effort, whoever generates the mind for Bodhi, and this mind should arise in Bodhi, where should we generate the mind, that Bodhi exists, those who thus conceive pride in Bodhi are not called Bodhisattvas, they are called those who intend to be born. Why is that? Thus, they are manifestly attached to birth, manifestly attached to mind, manifestly attached to Bodhi. Thus, etc., and again, Bodhi is without characteristics, it is separated from the nature of characteristics. Whoever thus
