Therefore. Furthermore, some people, after examining the self-contradictions of conventional dharmas, believe that the ultimate truth that has not been established, when they again speak in accordance with the dependent origination of knowable objects, and use the reasoning praised by others to cut off the extremes of elaboration such as existence and non-existence, and even fail to find what is merely truth, has become the non-conceptual ultimate truth divided by the two truths. However, this is not the case. Because, when that kind of truth is made the subject, and the ultimate truth that has cut off the extremes of elaboration such as existence and non-existence, it itself has become the conventional dharma that is the basis for establishing the thesis. The ultimate truth cannot even be established as merely the ultimate truth, and the merely negative consequence becomes the conventional to be established. Because that side has become conventional, the probandum relative to that side is also reasonably conventional. Furthermore, that kind of ultimate truth is established in relation to the conventional truth, so it will become dependent on establishment. And a conditioned dharma that is dependent on establishment cannot be a non-conceptual ultimate truth. So, how is the non-conceptual ultimate truth established by one's own system (392b) or another's system? For that which is devoid of all causes and directions such as establishment and non-establishment, no matter whether one speaks of its establishment or non-establishment with one's own or another's reasoning, one cannot negate or establish it. To speak and think like that is to fall into the great extreme of limitation and partiality. Considering this meaning, the glorious Dagpo Kagyu unanimously said: The Great Seal is not something that the lama can point out, not something that the student can understand, not defiled by experience and realization, not mixed with direct realization and certainty. Without falling into the scope of abandonment and adoption, negation and affirmation, fabrication, acceptance and rejection, bondage and liberation, it is the natural state of self-liberation from the beginning, and no one can change that. Merely such a statement is given the supreme name. Like this, for that which is devoid of all that can be understood, for clinging to what can be understood as real, speaking in accordance with the dependent origination of knowable objects is merely echoing what others say. When speaking like that, one's own system cannot speak or think at any time or place.

The Madhyamika who speaks, wherever he dwells in the ten directions and three times, I prostrate and take refuge with unwavering faith. Some people doubt in this way: Realists believe that even in the conventional realm, knowledge contradicts dependent origination, and they mistakenly regard the conventional as true. However, the others who speak in accordance with dependent origination examine and refute this, but this is not an examination by the Madhyamika's own system (393a). Such an examination is not an examination of the ultimate truth, because the non-conceptual ultimate truth is not the object of conventional expression. In this way, the examination becomes an examination of the establishment of conventional truth. This contradicts the assertion that the Consequentialists do not even examine conventional truth in conventional terms. Is that so? It is not contradictory. The false conventional truth, the conventional truth that realists mistakenly establish, according to the view of others who speak in accordance with dependent origination, does not even exist in the conventional realm. Therefore, in order to dispel such an attachment to existence, the Madhyamika only uses the reasoning of others who speak in accordance with dependent origination to refute this wrong view. After dispelling it, they do not use the reasoning of those who speak in accordance with dependent origination to examine the conventional truth that is the opposite of what was dispelled, and they do not establish it as their own system even in conventional terms. Therefore, there is no contradiction. Therefore, the conventional truth of dependent origination, which is empty of the four extremes of elaboration, and which, although without inherent existence, can accomplish various functions, such as the establishment of samsara and nirvana like illusions and dreams, is also like the establishment of those who speak in accordance with dependent origination without examination by reasoning. The Madhyamika also follows suit without examination. For example, like others who speak in accordance with dependent origination, without examination by reasoning, they say in other systems that sentient beings have knowledge and Buddhas do not have wisdom, or in order to follow the realists who speak in accordance with knowledge (393b) and contradict dependent origination, such as the Mind-Only school of true appearance, because of the need, they say in front of them without examination that Buddhas have wisdom. The Madhyamika also follows suit without examination.
