Because of the transformation, because ignorance and knowledge contradict each other, and also if there is no mind there, then there is no knower, how can you, the Madhyamika, tell others "such a meaning has been understood"? Who will indicate that? This is also unreasonable. Secondly, it is divided into two: refuting the unreasonableness of realizing Suchness, and refuting the unreasonableness of showing Suchness to the world. The first is: When the unborn is that itself, and the mind is also free from arising and ceasing, then at that time, relying on those, it is like that realizing that Suchness. How the mind becomes the aspect of what, that is, by that one knows that object, in this way, relying on close nominal terms, it is the reason for knowing. Just as the mind becomes the aspect of whatever object such as blue, by that mind, that object such as blue is completely known, just as the Sutra school and others say, when everything is unborn, and the mind of the yogi who has an object also becomes free from arising and ceasing, then at that time, wisdom is the aspect of the object unborn, from showing the unborn, the knower thus realizes the Suchness of the object, this is also established as knowledge by relying on other-name nominal terms, in reality, it is not that a certain object is determined by a certain object-possessor, because both are unborn. The meaning of these is that the Madhyamika Svātantrika does not say whether the Buddha has wisdom or not, even so, on the worldly level, if we follow the statement that is in accordance with dependent origination, then in the unexamined nominal terms, the mind and consciousness of sentient beings have the cause and effect of arising and ceasing because the collection of causes of delusion such as ignorance is complete. The Buddha does not have these, so the Buddha's self-realized level does not have the cause and effect of the arising and ceasing of wisdom. Even so, on the level of other beings to be tamed, the Buddha seems to have the wisdom of power and so on, because the cause of this is the fruit of the collection of wisdom, which is merely dependent origination, arising without deception. Then, if on the level of others, from the cause of the collection of wisdom, stainless wisdom arises as a result, then wouldn't wisdom become a real self-characteristic? It will not change, because all such causes and effects are also nominally established (369b) nominally established dharmas. To this, the realist
