It was said to dispel clinging. As it says in the Praise of the Transcendent World: "To destroy all conceptualizations, He taught the nectar of emptiness. Whatever one clings to, That you rebuke." And as it says in the Question of Light Protector: "Light Protector, those who focus on emptiness and conceptualize emptiness, they have completely fallen away from my scriptures. Light Protector, it is better to have a view of self as great as Mount Meru, but not to have pride and cling to emptiness. Why is that? Light Protector, emptiness is the source of all views. Light Protector, those who only cling to emptiness, I say are incurable." Light Protector, it is like this: For example, if a person is sick and takes medicine, and the medicine removes all of their illnesses, but the medicine remains in the stomach and is not expelled, Light Protector, what do you think? Will that person be freed from illness? He replied: "Bhagavan, that will not happen. Because the medicine removes all illnesses, but if the medicine remains in the stomach, that person's disease will become very severe." The Bhagavan said: "Light Protector, in the same way, emptiness is the source of all views. Light Protector, those who only cling to emptiness, I say are incurable." And as it says in the Dense Array Ornament: "A view of self as great as Mount Meru, Will not cause harm, But clinging to emptiness causes harm, Because pride is not examined. Yogic practice of emptiness, Should not be applied to the wrong place. If applied to the wrong place, It is like drinking nectar as poison. Whatever views there may be, That beings possess, In order to abandon the aspects of views, The principle of emptiness is taught. However, even hearing the view of emptiness, If some people's views are not destroyed, They are holders of incurable views, Like a sick person given medicine by a doctor." Thus, when the great Jonangpas refute Madhyamaka, although they do not consider other-emptiness to be true, they cling to it as true in the subsequent analysis. And the Gelugpas, in both meditative and post-meditative states, besides dependent origination and imputation, negate the emptiness of form with reasoning...

To hold strongly to the notion of emptiness, other-emptiness, and non-inherent existence is like a patient abandoned by a doctor. It is said that such a view cannot be cured by the nectar of the sacred Dharma of the fully enlightened Buddha, the great physician who eliminates all diseases of the two obscurations. Fifth, there are two parts: the dependent phenomenon, and the explanation of the manner and necessity of emptiness. First: Sentient beings and the world of containers, are entirely pervasive, and because they are without limit, the directions are all great. The ten directions are great because there is no world of containers and contents apart from the directions, so sentient beings, that is, living beings, and the world of containers are entirely pervasive. Moreover, if one meditates on love and so on in each of the ten directions, since one meditates after completely defining the direction, it abides with limitless examples, so there is no end. Second: These ten directions, all directions, whatever is emptiness, that is great, it is said to reverse the clinging to greatness. These ten directions, all directions, whatever is emptiness by their own nature, that is the great emptiness, that is, to prevent the Particularists and others from thinking that the directions are limitless and pervasive substances (343a). Sixth: That is the supreme necessity, therefore, it is ultimate Nirvana. That is, whatever is emptiness by that, that is ultimate emptiness, in order to dispel the clinging of those who think of Nirvana as real, therefore, with ultimate wisdom, the ultimate emptiness is shown. Nirvana is ultimate Nirvana, because in "Parama Artha" (藏文:པ་ར་མ་ཨཱརྠ་,梵文天城体:परमार्थ,梵文罗马拟音:paramārtha,汉语字面意思:Supreme Meaning), "Parama" means supreme or most excellent, and "Artha" means meaning, that is, result, necessity, and object, etc. Nirvana is the most excellent of all necessities for a person, therefore, Nirvana is whatever is emptiness by that, that is ultimate emptiness, because it is free from the four extremes of being something, not being something, and both or neither. The Buddha with ultimate wisdom showed the ultimate emptiness, the Vaibhashikas said: Whatever is cessation by individual analysis, is separation, individual, individual.
