Or, the object to be negated, in terms of designation, is not found at all within the knowable. So, searching for it among the unknowable phenomena, one looks to see if it can be found. If it can be found, then it is determined to be emptiness. In this way, if these phenomena of samsara and nirvana are not found to be empty of self and truth, then these phenomena become the basis for establishing self and truth. Although the good intention to do one's best appears, the Bhagavan, the all-seeing one, speaks truthfully and cannot utter falsehoods. Therefore, there is absolutely no deception in extensively determining phenomena and persons to be without truth, without self, and empty. How much weight of a dzo can you put on an ox, and will the ox be able to bear it? May the world, including the gods, understand this. Here it is said: From form to omniscient wisdom, and all phenomena in between, as well as ordinary beings, noble ones, Buddhas, sentient beings, and individuals, these phenomena and individuals exist within the knowable. If one realizes that these things are without self and truth, then that person, wherever they may dwell in samsara or nirvana (page 341), is most wondrous, and I pray with devotion. In the confused appearance of designation, searching for a phenomenon that is not at all established within the knowable, and meditating on emptiness, from meditating on confused and deceptive phenomena as true and non-deceptive, merely for the sake of subduing enemies and protecting friends in this life, each faction expands in the ten directions, with prideful arrogance and diligent effort, it is best for all to seek the state of liberation. If not, from introducing this very ignorance as omniscient wisdom, to the sinful king honoring it with the crown of his head, saying that I have achieved the fruit I desired, nowadays those who claim to be virtuous accomplished ones, their view, meditation, and conduct will surely become the path to liberation, because the reasons are the same. This is called the intermediate verse. Secondly: Because that nature of it is such, therefore form is empty of form, sound, smell, taste, tactile objects, and phenomena themselves are also the same. Form and so forth are without self-nature, and are considered to be external emptiness. External phenomena such as form are empty of their own essence, because the nature of form is emptiness, therefore form is empty of its own essence, and likewise

Sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas are also empty in their own nature, just like that. Therefore, the absence of inherent existence of the six external sense bases, such as form, is considered external emptiness. According to the Gelugpa school: Because its own nature, is therefore unknowable, form is empty of form, likewise sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas are also like that, unknowable forms, etc., are considered external emptiness. (341b) Saying such things must be recited as the unsurpassed secret words of Manjushri. The third is: Both are without inherent existence, is the emptiness of inner and outer. The absence of inherent existence of both the causes of inner and outer, being empty of their own nature, is the emptiness of inner and outer. Inner and outer are considered to be the abdomen and the power base of the holy lion in the Madhyantavibhāga, etc., but what is said here is the intention of the sutra. The fourth is: All dharmas are without inherent existence, the wise call it emptiness, that emptiness is also empty of its own nature. Whatever emptiness is called emptiness, emptiness is considered emptiness, it is spoken to dispel the clinging of those who have a mind of emptiness as a real entity. This emptiness can be explained in the Madhyantavibhāga and the tantras, as well as all dharmas spoken by the holy lion, etc., but here the teacher, according to the sutra, calls the absence of inherent existence of all dharmas, such as conditioned and unconditioned, empty of their own nature, emptiness. As it is said in the Mind Commentary: All dharmas are unborn, it is clearly explained as emptiness. Like that. Emptiness is also considered empty of its own nature of emptiness, if there is a dharma nature or a basis for refutation that is not empty, then the emptiness that refutes the object to be refuted is present on it, as the Jonangpa and Gelugpa schools assert, but here there is not even a little bit of non-empty dharma, how can the existence of emptiness and the establishment of the basis be established? The so-called emptiness of emptiness is to consider emptiness as emptiness, other than this, some people think that emptiness is the basis of real and unreal functioning things that are real or unreal, and that sentient beings are established
