Therefore. Even so, in the Abhisamaya-alamkara Sutra and others, it is also taught that "in the conventional, the nature of fire is the appearance of heat" in accordance with the conventional truth of children. Therefore, it is not that the conventional nature of fire is dependent origination, so it cannot be self-nature; the ultimate nature is not dependent origination, so it is reasonable to be self-nature, but rather that the two truths are established from dependent origination, the nature of the conventional truth is false, relying on dependent origination, and the nature of the ultimate truth is true, and the nature of dependent origination is also established by the reason of dependent origination. Therefore, saying that the eye and so on are empty of the eye is saying that emptiness is completely clarified, not like the Hearers' school saying that it is empty because it is separated from the inner agent, nor like the Mind-Only school saying that it is empty by the nature of the grasped and the grasper, this kind of emptiness where one negates the other is not emptiness. So, how do these Dharma schools explain the principle of emptiness? The schools that assert the existence of a person consider that the basis of emptiness is the person and the aggregates, etc., on top of the Dharma, the eternal, singular, independent self, etc., that are conceived by outsiders, as well as karma and its results, and the absence of past and future lives, etc., are considered empty of the extremes of permanence and annihilation. (327a) The Sarvastivadins, who do not accept the person, consider that the basis of emptiness is the three times of Dharma and the unconditioned, which are included in the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and the person, etc., which are established by outsiders and the schools that assert the existence of a person, are empty of the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and they say that these five objects of knowledge that are empty exist by nature. Furthermore, the Sutra school considers that the basis of emptiness is the present aggregates, elements, and sense bases, form, mind, and what is included in the mind, on top of these, the self and the extremes of permanence and annihilation that are established by outsiders and the person-asserting schools, as well as the past and future substantially existent, etc., that are established by the Sarvastivadins, and the non-associated formations, substantially existent, unconditioned, etc., are also considered empty. They say that the indivisible particles and the momentary indivisible consciousness that are empty of these are true. The Mind-Only school of true appearances is that the basis of emptiness is the present momentary consciousness, with the appearance of the object, on top of these, the heretics and the Hearers

It is considered that the person and the self of phenomena, which are all imputed by concepts, are empty, and that the other-powered and the self-aware, self-luminous, perfectly established, which are empty of that, are not empty. The mere appearance proponents consider that on the basis of the other-powered, which is merely the experience of clear awareness, all the selves imputed by the non-Buddhists and the Hearers, and the mere truth proponents consider that all the stains of imputed appearances are empty. They consider that the other-powered, which is merely the nature of consciousness, is established as a substance, and that the suchness, the perfectly established, which is the nature of phenomena, is merely the nature of consciousness, and that it exists in reality without being different from that. Tsongkhapa considers that on the objects established by conventional valid cognition, the objects to be negated by reasoning are empty, and that emptiness is established as existing on that basis. Therefore, the emptiness of those who assert things is that the imputed phenomena are empty of their own nature, but all the phenomena of the basis of emptiness are considered to be true, and that their emptiness is either the same as the phenomena or exists in a way that cannot be said to be different from that, so both the phenomena and the nature of phenomena are not empty of their own nature, and they are empty of other objects to be negated, so like the emptiness of the outsiders, it is a temporary nominal emptiness, not the true emptiness that can be relied upon as a basis for the path to liberation, because if the phenomena and the nature of phenomena truly exist, then the mind that grasps them as true cannot be abandoned, and if that is not abandoned, then the seeds of the afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge cannot be abandoned. The Svatantrika Madhyamikas consider that when examined by the reasoning that examines ultimate truth, nothing whatsoever can be found of the basis of emptiness, the phenomena of emptiness, emptiness and non-emptiness, phenomena and the nature of phenomena, etc., so all phenomena are pacified from all elaborations and signs, but this nature of appearance of objects and mind, which cannot be refuted by the reasoning that examines conventional truth, is like an illusion, and in conventional truth it is made the basis of emptiness, and in ultimate truth it is considered that all the phenomena imputed by those who assert things, both internal and external, are empty, and this (328a) is also in relation to the emptiness of those who assert things, all phenomena are empty of their own nature, and in the face of the correct hearing, thinking, and meditation, or in the face of the equipoise of the Mahayana noble ones.
