In order not to talk about other things (298a) How does it work for you that "the chariot is dumb" and so on? I am not at fault. Because, if this chariot is analyzed in terms of ultimate truth and conventional truth, it cannot be established by the sevenfold reasoning. However, without such analysis, this chariot is established based on its own limbs such as wheels, based solely on worldly fame. Therefore, I only admit this dependent arising cause, and without analysis, the continuum of terminology will not be interrupted. If you also speak of terminology, you should speak in that way. Second, there are two situations where it is unreasonable for things and limbs, etc., not to exist. The first is: it itself is a possessor of limbs, it is a possessor of parts. The chariot itself is called the agent and goes forth. For people, it becomes the receiver. We are very clear that the name of the chariot is established from the point of view of fame, and without analysis, when this name is also used in terminology, it must be spoken according to fame. The chariot itself is also a possessor of limbs in relation to its own limbs such as wheels; the chariot is a possessor of parts in relation to parts such as wheels; the chariot itself is called the agent in relation to things to be taken such as nails; depending on its own near-taking, for people, it becomes the receiver of the limbs of fame. The second is: do not destroy the conventional truth of worldly fame. Some of your own schools only have a collection of limbs, but the possessor of limbs does not exist in any way; there are only parts and functions and near-taking things to be taken, but there are no possessors of parts and agents and receivers, etc. According to those who speak contrary to worldly conventional fame, the same reason will also lead to the non-existence of limbs, etc. (298b), because limbs and possessors of limbs, etc. are established in dependence on each other. Therefore, if you speak against me, then the fault of transgression is admitted by yourself, so do not destroy the conventional truth of limbs and possessors of limbs, etc. in worldly fame. We establish them as terminology in dependence on each other, so both exist, and if analyzed, neither exists. The third is: how does that which does not exist by the sevenfold reasoning exist? Yogis will not find this existence. Therefore, it can also be easily applied to that itself. Therefore, here, its establishment should be accepted as such.

Therefore, if things are analyzed, they do not exist, but if they are not analyzed, they do exist. Therefore, by analyzing, one can fathom their essence. If a chariot were inherently established, then at the time of analysis, it should be possible to find its essence in any of the seven modes. Since the chariot is not found even when sought through the seven modes, then how does that chariot exist? When a yogi analyzes, the existence of this chariot is not found, because the chariot is merely imputed by being deluded by the obscuration of ignorance. By realizing that it is empty of its own essence, one can easily enter into its meaning. Moreover, the word "also" indicates that it does not disappear even from the perspective of conventional truth. Here, for the unanalyzed conventional chariot, its establishment should be acknowledged through the mode of establishment by convention, because there is no fault in acknowledging it in this way, and it possesses qualities. The second part includes: the actual meaning and clarifying it through metaphors, two parts. The first part is: If a chariot truly exists, then there would be no constituents, nor would there be its parts. It is reasonable that a yogi does not see a chariot, but if one says that only the collection of its parts exists, then, like searching for cotton threads in ashes after burning cotton cloth, you should be ridiculed. If the chariot itself does not exist, then its parts also do not exist, because without a basis, the parts do not exist. If one thinks that even when the chariot is broken, one can still see the wheels, etc., so even without constituents, the parts exist, this is not possible, because without constituents, the parts cannot exist. Only the recognition of having previously seen a chariot with constituents allows one to recognize these as the parts of the chariot when seeing scattered wheels, etc. Otherwise, if one does not know its relationship to the chariot, one will not recognize it as the parts of the chariot. The second part is: Like a chariot burned, the parts are gone; the fire of wisdom burns the constituents as well. For example, just as when a chariot is burned by fire, its parts are also burned and disappear, when the fire of wisdom arising from rubbing the fire-drill of discernment completely burns the chariot with constituents, the parts will also be burned. The second part includes: showing that it is imputed in dependence on the self, its benefit is that it can reverse all views, and liberation is attained by realizing the absence of self and what belongs to self, three parts. The first part includes: in conventional terms, the way of imputing in dependence on the aggregates, etc., and...
