Although the fifth examination was mentioned, the Sutra Pitaka states that without grasping the aggregates, one cannot cling to self, therefore there are four ways of clinging to the view of the perishable aggregate (坏聚见, *jīrṇasamūhadṛṣṭi*, *jīrṇasamūha-dṛṣṭi*, the view of the perishable aggregate) to the five aggregates, so the fifth way of clinging does not exist. At this point, the great armor of the black horse says that the consequentialists (Prasaṅgika) believe that because the aggregates have become the object, they cling to self on the basis of the groundlessness, therefore the view of the perishable aggregate is the view that arises from relying on the perishable aggregate, and the intermediate words are hidden. If this is the case, the consequentialists are similar to acknowledging that when many separate trees gather together and see a forest, they see the forest without a basis. In this way, even in all directions, they will mentally grasp it as a forest. When the object is held or viewed by the subject, it is contradictory for the subject's view and holding to be without a basis, so what one says contradicts oneself, and one cannot overcome it. Even listening to such things in vain, considering them to be faultless good sayings and generating faith in them, is undoubtedly possessing irrefutable wisdom. In general, the Madhyamikas do not establish things that are causeless or dependent on the groundlessness, even in conventional truths that are established by dependence, without examination, so self also exists as an established thing in the face of innate intelligence that has not been examined. According to your view, it cannot be an established thing in that face (page 294), because in that face, things cannot rely on or depend on the groundlessness or causelessness. Therefore, you think that the object of the view of the perishable aggregate is actually groundless, but it is necessary to rely on the perishable aggregate to view the groundlessness, so it is called the view of the perishable aggregate. If the object of the view of the perishable aggregate is actually viewing the groundlessness, then when relying on the perishable aggregate to view, did you view its actual object, the groundlessness, or did you not view it? If you viewed it, then since the perishable aggregate has become the object, there is no need to rely on viewing, but it has been established that you viewed the object, the groundlessness, itself, so you should change the name of the view of the perishable aggregate and call the view of self the view of the groundlessness. If you did not view it, then the view of the perishable aggregate only views the perishable aggregate, and does not view its actual object, the groundlessness, so you cannot rely on the view of the perishable aggregate to view the groundlessness, because if the groundlessness has not become the object, then who will view it? It makes the five aggregates of the perishable aggregate the subject, and makes the person of the groundlessness the object, and thus

Because it has been done, but it seems as if no bad omens have been observed. In short, this erroneous statement of yours is that, like this, without analyzing the terms, even if the aggregates do not constitute the basis of my substance, the grasping of the aggregates as the basis for the imputation of the imputed self is a co-existing basis. Birds and wild animals, etc., are accustomed from beginningless time to merely their own continuum of aggregates, so they grasp "I" and "mine," thinking, "I go," "I am hungry," "My hand," etc. This seems to arise solely from not understanding. Therefore, please write this well-spoken word of mine on a golden plaque (294b) with molten lapis lazuli, hang it around your neck, and look at it again and again. Otherwise, the assertion by Chandrakirti that the view of the perishable aggregate does not become the view of the perishable aggregate in conventional terms is of no use for either higher realms or definite goodness, so it is a futile and fruitless task. Secondly: With the vajra of realizing selflessness, the mountain of views, what self and together with whom will be destroyed? Abiding on the mountain of the view of the perishable aggregate, dense and towering, these whose peaks have become high. The sutra says: The twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the perishable aggregate were destroyed by the vajra of wisdom, and the fruit of stream-entry was manifested. It says that when the mountain of the view of the perishable is destroyed by the wisdom vajra of realizing selflessness, what self, the object, and together with whom will be destroyed? The mountain of the view of the perishable aggregate, the subject, the rock of afflictions, has grown from beginningless samsara, so its height is towering in the three realms, abiding densely, arising from the golden ground of ignorance, these twenty whose peaks have become high. To consider these twenty as imputed is a mistake, since they are abandoned by the path of seeing. They are not imputed, because the imputed arises temporarily relying on tenets, etc., so it is not present in all sentient beings. These are the aspects of grasping the aggregates as self and mine, which all sentient beings have become accustomed to from beginningless time. Secondly, there are two aspects: stating the former position and refuting it. The first is: Some assert an inexpressible person, who is the same as that, other than that, permanent, impermanent, etc., a real self. They consider it to be the object of the six consciousnesses, and they also consider it to be the basis of self-grasping. Sthiramati says: The person cannot be established as other than the aggregates, because other than the aggregates.
