As in the conduct of Bodhisattvas, the detailed contemplation on dependent origination, from "Thus, death is also close to two functions, namely, destroying the aggregates and producing the cause of the continuous stream of complete ignorance," etc., the extensive exposition can be found in the auto-commentary. Here, death is presented as a phenomenon that is not examined in the world. As the upper and lower Abhidharma-kośa say, the dying mind is only a moment (241a), it destroys the existence of the previous life and creates the existence of the next life. As it is said, death is death, the end of the previous life, the cessation of life and death have two functions. What the great Tsongkhapa said, even in the unexamined worldly concept, cannot be established. If death is the cause of birth, then is it the cause similar to the previous life, or the cause different from the previous life? If it is the former, then it will never die; if it is the latter, then the result does not need to depend on the conditions that match the cause. Whichever inference is accepted, even a foolish herdsman would not say so, therefore, it is unreasonable to think that saying so is the ultimate thought of the great scholar Nāgārjuna, and is the characteristic of Chandrakīrti. Therefore, if death and destruction are the cause of other things, then in the sutra quoted in this auto-commentary, it says: "Aggregation produces conditioned phenomena, separation does not produce conditioned phenomena, collection produces conditioned phenomena, non-collection does not produce conditioned phenomena." etc., separation, non-collection, cessation, destruction, past and cessation do not produce the continuation of things. Can you refute such a statement? The conclusion of such an explanation is that, again quoting the sutra and its auto-commentary, such as "When ignorance ceases, actions cease," etc. Consciousness only arises when the cause that depends on it exists, and when the cause ceases, the result mind (241b) consciousness is also called cessation in worldly terms. This is exactly the good saying of the holy Chandrakīrti, and this key wisdom is unseizable.

Even the perfectly enlightened Buddha, who possesses all virtues, does not have consciousness or wisdom arising from mind and mental factors. This is because its cause, such as ignorance, has been completely eliminated. Thus, it is proclaimed with the great roar of a fearless lion. From the teachings of Lord Atiśa, in all the commentaries on the stages of the path of the three types of individuals, from Dromtönpa to the three spiritual brothers, it is unanimously held that according to the Prasaṅgika view, the Buddha does not have wisdom. They proclaim this with one voice, and there are countless texts expounding profound and vast doctrines. However, Changra Gelekpa says that the perfectly enlightened Buddha has attained the wisdom of omniscience, yet does not have the omniscient wisdom to know all knowable things. Who could have a more perverse view than this? Although they make many reproaches that are not worth repeating, it seems that your view, meditation, and conduct are also in accordance with the Kadampa tradition. Therefore, regarding the ultimate views and intentions of the holy beings such as Lord Atiśa, Dromtönpa, Naktsö Lotsāwa, the three spiritual brothers, and the incarnations of Buddhas and great Bodhisattvas residing on the great earth, you should carefully examine them with profound wisdom and speak accordingly. Second: Mind itself establishes the sentient world and the container world in great variety. It is said that all beings are born from karma. Without mind, there is no karma. Mind itself (242a) accumulates karma and defilements, causing all phenomena of samsara to be attained by beings. Because mind is able to establish the sentient world, from hell to the peak of existence, and the container world, from the wind mandala to Akanishta, in great variety. Among these, things like peacock feathers are produced by uncommon karma, while lotuses and the like are produced by the common karma of sentient beings. As it is said: Sentient beings follow the power of karma, born in dark times, like swords and jewel trees in hells, heavens, and the world. Therefore, even in the container world, the iron that the blacksmith himself believes to be truly existent, melted by the hands of a person, etc., does not depend on self-validation, but is due to the cause of karma.
